Type 2 Life

Now done almost a week of running every morning since cardiologist signed me off as fit to start again softer a hiatus of snout 10 weeks. Very little fitness latency remains, but immbuildingnitbupmagsinnbit my bit and my BP continues to drop like a stone to the sort of levels I had in my early 20s. So cardio, resistance/weights, LCHF and intermittent weekly fasting defo a combination punch for me

Evening everyone , just to let you know in case you were wondering where Ron is lately . Hes got alot on at the moment with his health as we still haven't heard anything about his x ray. Hes phoning them tomorrow to see what's going on and hopefully get some answers . He gets very tired lately and with all this hes felling very low and frustrated but hes battling on. Tonight he had another episode where his legs seized up again . Four times now this has happened. If he doesn't get any luck tomorrow then next weekend if no results by end of week hes going to A&E. He will be back on here though when he gets sorted out . Love to everyone.

Sending you both hugs and an ear.
Can he get in to see his gp today?
@tina_marie if you think his health is suffering more since his last gp appointment he needs to go back. Gp has to listen and offer him some support. Do you go in with him? If he's depressed he needs some help at mo. No shame in it.
The gp is there to help him. Most gps dont wade in and take over heavily. They wait for you to ask. Ask. They can help him til results come through if his mental health is being affected. Maybe gp can call hospital for an estimation of receipt of x-rays. Since it's been a few weeks now. Receptionist might be more helpful with that?
If ron is despondent you can help him do this.
Even just call receptionist and tell her what's going on for her advice. I'm so luckily at my surgery.

Good Morning, my lovely friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk Type 2 Life Forum,

I am posting to inform you all that at 7:38 am this morning, Monday 23rd May, 2016, after administering all my oral medication as prescribed, my Laxido Orange soluble laxative sachets and my 10 mcg of Lixisenatide glucagon-like peptide medication (injection), my blood glucose level was 5.8 Millimoles Per Litre. I've had a cup of coffee with coffeemate and three sweeteners and 4-5 hand-rolled cigarettes made from recycled tobacco. I don't feel hungry at all, and don't even feel like Marmite on Toast or any poached egg toasted sandwiches.

Yours faithfully,

Thank you for all the kind words (for some reason I can quote right now)... I ended up going to bed. Woke up with a -0.2 weight loss. I guess my body likes fishnchips? LOL! I don't remember who asked, but yes, my typical carbs is <20gr/day. Usually around 8-12 if I'm honest. I am also doing a 16/8 IF every day. So I eat lunch and tea, but if I eat lunch late due to not being hungry at noon, sometimes I'll eat a bigger one around 2-3pm and skip tea altogether, maybe a couple times a week.
My daughter is visiting from Canada so it is a little harder right now since there are more than normal treat foods around, but I've been very strict because I NEED to reverse this condition. I know I'll always be sensitive to carbs, I know I'll always need to pay attention. But when I get my weight to my "healthy" weight (140lbs, started at 240lbs, currently 201.2lbs) I am hoping to be able to be able to loosen the reins a tiny bit as far as carbs go... Maybe go as high as 30-40gr/day? But not now. Now it's my work time to fix what I did to myself by not paying better attention.
But no, I do not have a monitor. The DN said she would give me drugs, but people obsess over the monitor (um, rightfully so if they are responsible!!!) so they don't offer them. So this hba1c is flying blind. Leaving in a few minutes to hobble down into the village on my crutches to get my blood drawn. Yay.

Yes Deakin put her point across well and advisor sat on the fence. Better than normal codswollop!

Hi Vicky, I rang hospital about it last week to see how much longer it was going to be . Got told as I'm not the patient they couldn't tell me anything. Ron is going to ring them today and find out . I'm going down to the gp surgery in a bit to drop off Ron prescription so I might ask there if queue isn't to long . I do go with him to all his appointments . He seems low to me but I think its because of the things he wants to do but cant because of the pain. Hes on light duties at work but he wants to get back to his normal job as he enjoys it . We belong to a model boat club but he cant go as he cant lift the boats into the car as there so heavy.

@tina_marie Let him know we are here for him. Scream thread is brilliant to vent annoyance and stress. He might just need to scream it out.
It must be very hard for you. If it's any consolation I've been where you are. Cannot take their pain away and a bouncing ball for their frustration and upset.
They always feel more comfortable releasing their stress on their loved one.
I knew it must have been difficult for you but I didn't want to barge in.
Of course it's hard for him but you need support too to be able to support him.
We are here. For both of you, in different ways.
Pm people if you feel Ron doesn't want to have everything on threads.
Although others who watch but never post can take heart from Ron and your experience and strength. ♡♥♡

Morning folks, I'm in a good mood today - I had my first fbg under 6! I posted my 5.9 on the fbg thread. Hugs to everyone who needs it and I hope everyone has a good day

@tina_marie 're Ron's legs. Ask about "stiff leg" syndrome. I used to work with a lady whose mother developped it. She could be walking normally then they would suddenly and painfully seize up...She did ask if it's really called that, and yes it is, no fancy names

Forgot to take my Insulin yesterday! Took the Metformin throughout the day, but could not fathom out why? My tests during the day were much higher, even before bed at 1am it was 22.4. It was only this morning when I went to inject myself found the pen already set and needle attached that I realised not had any yesterday.

Who's a silly Billy
at least you know now why you were running high....

I supposed this is due to the latest report from the National Obesity Forum and the Public Health Collaboration released today, which says said most of what we have been told about healthy eating over the past 50 years was wrong. The news channels have leapt all over it this morning (and are mostly trying to rubbish it).

Thank you have passed this on to Ron .
