Type 2 Life

Woah, that WAS a bit of a silly billy. Hopefully coming down again now....that was a LOT of food in one sitting...you might've gotten away with TWO slices

But its eaten now and you can't change that......record it and move on......

we are off to a dinner party shortly... not sure what is on the menu and how many carbs it will involve. We have quite an active social life and it's hard to go to dinner with people and expect them to cook to suit me, I have told the host that I'm not eating bread, potatoes, rice etc but didn't get more specific than that as I know she will stress about what to cook otherwise. So I think I'll have to make the best of it. I'm hoping that if I drink red wine with it that will counteract any carbs!

@ickihun - Hi Vicky. I was at the Hospital Diabetic Clinic on 11th May and I was 12st - 10lbs and had remained at 12st - 10lbs since January, But, this last fortnight I noticed slight Odema in my ankles and last Thursday when I took urine sample in I showed the Diabetic Nurse and was told to keep an eye on my ankles. She weighed me and I was 13st = put on 4lbs, but she reckons it's fluid and I may need Diuretics if it gets worse? YES it's usually when my blood sugars are 7 or above. I am taking (approved by Surgery Nurse) Cystocalm sachets, drinking lots more water and less coffee. And you won't believe this!!!!!!!! Just read the information leaflet that comes with the Biological Injection and it can cause THRUSH - Thank You for asking about that drug Vicky. = yeah!!! Got the Connection. William x

Wow! You're right, Johnny, that WAS silly. What a pity, after the great readings you were getting earlier.

Good Evening, @Sable_Jan , yes I was terribly impulsive and as per usual with my Asperger Syndrome and ADHD my judgement and discernment was grossly impaired and I didn't understand the risk factors involved, but my absolutely impeccable and awesome friends on the Type 2 Life forum are helping me develop that skill.I wouldn't have come this far if it wasn't for this forum and this little chat room facility online has taught me so much and is the reason why I've made so much progress. Anyway, my glycaemia has stabilised significantly due to my hydration of my body with tap water plus the glucagon-like substance in the Lixisenatide, at 7:03 pm my blood glucose level was 5.7 Millimoles Per Litre. Hugs to you, @Sable_Jan , have a lovely evening, from Type 2 Life www.diabetes.co.uk forum participant, @autisticwonder1970 (Johnny Baker), sufferer of Asperger Syndrome and ADHD.

Hi there. I'm new to this but wanted to say hi and maybe chat . My bloods are being taken next week so I'm now glad I've done something about all this diabetes business. Cheers Paul
Welcome! You've come to the BEST place to be if you are battling diabetes or pre-diabetes!

Well, we all enjoyed the Chinese, I limited myself to 6 chips & 1 chicken ball (battered) and I had 2 tablespoons of egg fried rice, chicken curry and chicken chow mein. I know just call me greedy guts..
5.6 @ 6.30,
7.7 @ 8.00,
8.5@ 8.40,
will test again in a while and hope it doesn't keep rising. I'm going to have a piece of cheese hoping to counteract it. Looks as though it will be another 6 months before WE have another . xx

Your welcome, hope your day was as great as mine was, I didn't even know they were lioking at houses!! But I'm so glad they now have a place of their own. They both seem so happy, they've furnished it beautifully, they both work hard, my daughter has always worked even had job while at school & uni, she's never been lazy, if she's happy I'm happy.

Checking in from the South of France where I can report it is raining I don't need anyone to tell me it's glorious weather at home LOL - looks better later though and campsite is almost on the beach so might even get a swim in the Med.

Managed to keep my numbers in 4/5s yesterday - with 4.9 average per MySugr. Shopped sensibly so I have good food, even bought LivLife bread with me. Felt kind of sad I can't enjoy the gorgeous cream cake my partner bought (he did ask me first!) but maybe one day

Find travelling the hardest but learning. Learnt French for carbs is Glucides - now studying labels in French eating out isn't easy but as I love cooking that is fine. I'll suffer over the cooker for better BG. Our campsite will hire 200 litre fridge/freezers so will be organised in August when we are here again.

Enough of my rambling .. sorry, going to brave the showers and head to the campsite cafe for a Cafe Creme

I hope you have a fab time Penfold - and that is a seriously cool new avatar!
Well done on the BG levels.
And don't worry about the cream cake - just give your partner a hug, pat his tummy and smile indulgently, and he'll probably decide he doesn't enjoy them that much anyway!

Thanks @debrasue new picture taken on Friday just before we left from Elstree to fly to Beziers. I'm already over the cream cake, I'm enjoying my new health and wellbeing - just don't take away my cheese and red wine hope you are well and having a good weekend?

@PenfoldAPD enjoy france and bring back some good cheeses, oh and wine!
Excellent bgs. Mine is a bit high due to less insulin for a while to help weight. I'll not know effective til next week weigh-in.

Fab, thanks pet! Sun's shining and I'm having a coffee in the garden and watching the birds.
