Type 2 Life

I made a huge mistake at 4:30 pm and had 4 whole Marmite sandwiches with 8 slices of Kingsmill white bread and thickly-spread Marmite. At 5:15 pm, my blood sugar read an outstandingly concerning 13.1.

I know that the impulsivity and poor judgement orientation in my Adult ADHD may have precipitated this. I was doing so well with previous posts heralding my achievements. I felt like I'd overcomed massive hurdles and came up to a brick wall whilst running and hit it with such great velocity that I knocked myself out. Now I feel sad, discouraged and disappointed in myself.

But there's no room for self-pity. I have to continue trying and just try to hydrate myself with plenty of tap water to lower the glycaemia and adopt the same healthy attitude that I have originally maintained.

Much love to everyone on www.diabetes.co.uk.

We all have bad days - just learn from it, don't beat yourself up too much, we are all human :)

You have an excellent attitude Johnny, we are all human and make mistakes but the important thing is learning from them. I find that when I eat carbohydrates I want more afterwards! It sounds like your dad was very wise, he gave you some very good advice. My favourite saying is "tomorrow is a new day", even if you have a bad day you can start afresh the next day. Much love to you too

That's the right attitude, Johnny - pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep on winning.
Yes, you made a mistake, but you are not the only person in the world who has ever done that, and you recognised that you made a mistake and knew how to fix things.
You're making great progress in a very short time. Well done.
Hugs x

I've got a bad infection in my left cheek sinuses. Been trying to steam things out. Feeling miserable and not going out tonight as planned. Noticed my BGs were a bit higher than usual, signs of an infection setting in. If it gets more painful I might have to go to the out of hours at the hospital tomorrow. Bummer. :)

Well, liked because I can now, but not that I like the sound of infected sinuses

Good Morning, my lovely friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk Type 2 Life Forum,

I am posting to inform you that at 5:45 ante meridian this morning, Saturday 28th May, 2016 (Kylie Minogue's 48th Birthday!!), I administered my metformin hydrochloride, tamsulosin hydrochloride, ramipril, bendroflumathiazide, amlodipine, carbamazepine and my Lixisenatide glucagon-like peptide injection.

When I took my blood glucose reading at 6:26 ante meridian, it read 4.8 Millimoles Per Litre.

Have a lovely day, my friends.

Yours faithfully,

You said it Johnny, just treat today as another fresh start. Kill those carbs - maybe fast until lunch. It won't take you long to rectify the slip.:)

Great fasting figure. Mine was 6 and I felt starving hungry so had two slices of multi-seeded toast with lots of butter. Still feel hungry but think I may be getting a chest infection and slept really badly. Hips were nothing aching and when I finally started to drift off around 2am some idiots let off about 6 rockets (along the path by the sounds of it so the explosion was really loud at ground level).

Ooh, dear, hope the surprise is a relaxing one. I'm with you on crowded places.... Especially if noisy too (even the heavy hum of normal chatter can send me hiding in my little shell

Good Morning, my lovely friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk Type 2 Life Forum,

I am as happy as a little spring bunny today. Not only did I achieve a non-diabetic range blood sugar reading but today, Saturday 28th May, 2016, I received a very lengthy report from Doctor Susannah Whittle at my local Autism Service, confirming my diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome. She mentioned my diabetes and other health conditions as well and is going to refer me for something called Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at a specialist autism resource that well help me counteract my ASD tendencies of putting myself at risk financially and my 'meltdowns'.

My BG at 11:45 this morning was 5.2 Millimoles Per Litre.
