I think its something to do with body temperature and the type of exercise! My BG rises when exercising. Is that normal? It goes up by 2 on average. However some days it does down 2 if sugar is say 8 or 9 at start of exercise.
This morning I got up on a 5.7 after a lot of insulin with my medium carb dinner. Took my son to school and bought 4ltrs of diet lemonade. Power walked it back. Sweating as I went. Dripping wet with sweat on my face on reaching home.
Tested 7.9 with my refreshment after putting away the contents of my heavy bag. Eh?
This exercise thing has got me flummoxed.
Swimming most days raises my bg whilst getting bags ready and changing into my costume. Afterwards if excellent bg to start swimming it raises by approx. 2. If 7 or 8 to start it comes down approx. 2.
Anyone else find this?
I'm doing a 24hr urine collection for kidney function and cortisone this week. I've been fine with the one I did 13yrs ago.
I am teaching my nearly 9yr old how to jog tonight. Out of experience we have to start at ten minutes only. Warm up and downs and breathing techniques.I think its something to do with body temperature and the type of exercise!
The other day I went for a 2 hour gentle stroll, not getting sweaty or anything, and just before my evening meal I tested 3.8
Yet the previous week went for really hard walk got all hot and bothered and tested 12.8, but did stop halfway for a cup of tea and a toasted teacake. I have noticed that short vigorous exercise seems to raise my BG, now whether that's my body releasing glucose when I start to exercise and me not doing enough to burn it off or something else I don't know.
Perhaps others could do some research on this as I have noted others saying the same thing.
We both enjoyed it. In fact he didnt want to finish. He's looking forward to tonights 15mins. Wish i was. lolI am teaching my nearly 9yr old how to jog tonight. Out of experience we have to start at ten minutes only. Warm up and downs and breathing techniques.
We both want to lose weight around our middle.
I'll test as normal. I'll let you know how it goes. Myself I need to lose a stone before I'm not exceeding my reebok treadmill which is gathering dust in the garage.
