Type 2 Life

Hi all well the scan went OK except that it took several goes to get the cannula in as according to the lady doing it my veins are all shot. Too many years of preds at highish doses.

Should get the results at the follow up appointment next month but if any thing untoward shows up they will let me know.

One other thing came out of the discussion before hand was that she said as the kidney damage shown in the blood test prior to my op was eGFR at 63% would be OK to proceed. The latest blood test done since the op gave a reading of 60% so slightly down so going to have to be careful as that's going in the wrong direction.

Sending you hugs, my mum had the same problem when she was in hospital last year. She developed MRSA and they had a heck of a time trying to get a vein to put her drip in

My mum is having a op on tuesday.
Scan highlighted fibroids, fatty liver and she has been called back for her bowels to be investigated. She has had loose tummy for months. A worrying time. She isn't diabetic nor on meds with such side affect. She's only 67yrs old but eats slimming world unlimited fruit.
I have told her about their affects when overeaten. Mothers never listen, well not when her best friend is a nurse and nhs brainwashed. :(

Rons seizures started a day after the scan. He seems to think that the heat from the scanner may have triggered the seizures. When we see the neurologist we will be discussing this with him. In the mean time I'm recording all the seizures and times they are happening and how long they last.
How are things guys?

I had the hypo from hell today. I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest like alien.
I haven't hypo'd for nearly a year now. I've had hundreds of 4s but very few low 3s. Today I had a 2. Poor toddlers chocolate took the brunt. Couldnt find my glucose tablets. I had potato afterwards to ensure no rebound.
It left me hugely energetic. Housework done in 20mins.
Not recommended thou. My heart couldnt take many of those!

The lowest I have been is about 3.6 but that did make me feel ill so you have my sympathy.
I take a tablet for hypertension which up until today suppressed my hypo rapid heart beats. It would have been worse without it. Bulp! Mind u I may have detected it sooner without it, I guess. :(

Every now and then they still like to sneak up on you @ickihun . Hopefully it was a one off and wont happen again.
I hope so @4ratbags . I'm still needing insulin even thou ive bedded in nicely with metformin again. A little disappointing but this hypo may be a sign of a development. I'll see if happens again and will have to reduce insulin afterall. I suppose a good consolation prize. ;)

Hugs Vicky. My lowest ever was 1.2 mmol/l registered by paramedics - no shape to do it myself. Was taken by ambulance to A&E. It's good to test more often. Take care hun. :)
