Type 2 Life

great news welcome back William

Thank You Ron :) and Tina :)
Have you heard about your MRI Scan yet?
I rang the Liver Consultant's Secretary 10 days ago and was told the results from my Liver MRI Scan was on the Consultants desk and he would read them and I would get a letter with follow up appointment in a few days. I am still waiting 10 days later. If I have not heard by tomorrow? I am going to ring the Medical Secretary.

How is your feet doing? Any better?
Hi again welcome back, no toes still burning, must see doctor don't want to use that meds they gave, could be addictive & hard to get off, spoke to pharmacist & that's what I was told, so want to try somat else, daughter suffering pounding headaches agsin, had to see doctor herself, I'm still being bombarded with nasty txts, must emigrate to Mars!! Glad you got it sorted & are back, my averages for past month say 6.5!!! Yet I'm getting 6's & 7's in the morning, see what happens, 6.5 is about 40 & 5.7%. Let's hope I can keep it up, toe pain might ease off then

Yes it is, it's one of the clumps of pink Astilbe growing in our rear garden.

We have all 3 colours: Pink, White and Burgundy - the pink Astilbe was given to us 5 years ago from a friend (85 yr old Lady) who used to live in Patna (near Ayr) and it has really thrived and often reminds me of that departed friend.:) She was a good friend to my Mother, and when my Mother died - Well she became my Surrogate Mother. = God Bless Her.:)

@maureen5752 - They are not bad readings. Are you due a HBA1C soon?
Yes, do go back and see your GP there must be other things that you can be treated with? But don't suffer in silence with pain. I don't know what else to suggest about your 'living nightmare'! :)

Had last one in Feb I think so probably february next year, I can't go below 5, I get hypo yet last night I went to 4, but no symptoms which is unusual, try not to go low, but last June my hba1c was 24.3 that's when they put me on meds so not to bad now, that's when I got nerve damage, still keep trying, you ok? Hope so

You are in Central Scotland @Japes as am I We live 25 miles east of Glasgow

Now, why had I got it in my head you were Aberdeen way?!

Anyway - I'm in Argyll. Lovely drive down to Campbeltown today. Done walks along the Crinan Canal, around the Kilmartin area and the forests by the cottage. Very quiet in comparison to my usual city life, but that's one of the things I love about holidays.

We live in a village slap bang in the middle of Central Scotland equidistant between Edinburgh and Glasgow - lowlanders! I'm glad that you are enjoying your holiday, the scenery is beautiful where you are. We also like the same type of holidays as yourself. I hope that you enjoy the remaining days, you are having great weather to see the scenery at its best.

Yes, Thanks @maureen5752 apart from my blood sugars being a bit higher than normal. Had a 8.1 this morning and yesterday morning it was 8.5? I think it could well be that the Steriod Tablets are still in my system? Only finished on Saturday a 4 week course of Prednisolone (Steriod) Tablets for this blooming Arthritic Pain - done no good at all, had Steriod Injections 2 months ago and they did nothing except raise blood sugars. But, I am back seeing the Rheumatologist at the Hospital this Friday, so I am sure she will put me on another treatment? :)

I was put on prednisolone last winter only for few days but only side effects I got was sky high bgs, high blood pressure, but my diabetic doctor said he wouldn't have put me on those, said the doctor that did must have thought useful but I was taken straight off them when they realised my sugars were so high, hope you get better soon & can get off that stuff, wish you well

THANKS to those who expressed their concerns that I was leaving and for sending me their email addresses to keep in touch. Had talks with Administration and decided I would return to the Forum. :D
Welcome back William, this place is far too quiet without you :)

@JoanneArmstrong - Hello :). When you are ill, your body makes hormones to fight the illness. Those same hormones also raise Blood Sugars, which is why you need to test your blood sugars more. Make sure you drink plenty of sugar free fluids if you don't feel like eating. Hope you feel better soon :).
