I had symptoms at 6yr old @PenfoldAPD . I have photographs of being chubby but ate same as my skinny sister. Different metabolism. I believe I was diabetic at 6yr old. Thrush and tiredness with energetic bursts. Hormones were never right in pubity and weight piled on through unmanaged diabetes. My GP sent me away on a numerous occasions with a cream. I didnt have a clue what life was all about never mind diabetes.
I still feel let down. My mum was highlighting the problem but no help.
I fought my weight with starvation and excessive exercise. Binge eating after realising all in vein and infertile too.
I divorced my 10yr old husband so he could meet someone else and have children. I set him free.
I buried my head in work and having a good lifestyle to match. I stayed away from children, especially my nephew. I couldnt get involved with the failure of ivf and trying any more.
No sooner I forgot about conceiving, I feel pregnant, unmarried. A new 6mth relationship with my 2 gorgeous boy's dad.
And here we are.

William the ones I used are called .. Cura-heat for neck and shoulder pain but I know the ones you used . They are excellent mine give me up to 10 hours relief .@ickihun - Vicky, Sacroiliitis is an Inflammatory condition and Naproxen is used for such conditions, so it ought to be 'kicking in' by now and giving you some relief? If not? - Go back and see your GP maybe you need something else, don't suffer with Pain as it drains you Mentally. I have been in the Shower and I feel like a new person = so clean and smelling fresh. The dressing came off and I put a big plaster over the hole, because I don't want it catching on my clothing.
Had a better nights sleep, only woke up twice - having rolled over onto my right side and was told this morning that I swore twice!!!
I read that @tina_marie used them Heat Pads on her shoulder and they worked. Try them Vicky you might get some relief, they certainly work for my back ache.Wxx
Hi William I get my heat pads from a shop called Buoys and i paid £2.99 for a pack of two. I will be going with Ron as I always do. He wants a referral back to the neurologist for further investigation as to what's wrong. You see when he was told he might have M.S. I looked up conditions that have similar symptoms . One of the conditions is called Guillian-Barre syndrome. An EMG test is needed and also a lumbar puncture test to see if he has it also a blood test. Vitamin b12 can also be of a similar cause . It gets me that people such as Ron who take metformin aren't tested for such things. Tina, You need to get over to the GP that seeing Ron have these 'fits' scares you to death. And you worry constantly that he could hurt himself - such as if he was cooking or holding a kettle of boiling water and he had one he could severely scald/burn himself.
Well, I got a surprise yesterday at the GP's. I have known for the last 4 -5 years that I have Arthritis, and I was told earlier this year it was Psoriatic Arthritis. Then Yesterday my GP tells me he had a report sent to him from the Rheumatologist whom I last saw 2 weeks ago and she 'thinks' I could well have Osteoarthritis? This runs in families and my late Mother suffered with this, so there is the connection. So, the Rheumatologist has ruled out I don't have Psoriatic Arthritis or Rheumatoid Arthritis because the Steriod Injections and 4 week course of Steriod Tablets never eased the pain. However, the Rheumatologist is making arrangements for me to undergo Bone Scans and I will be hearing soon with an appointment. My Arthritis began in my lower spine first, then spread to my hips, then Kneess and shoulders - it's now in my fingers and they are more painful than my back these days.
I take Pregabalin which is used for Neuropathic Pain and I also take Tramadol which I find eases Bone Pain.
I know you will speak up to the Doctor and tell him or her that Ron should not have to suffer and wait all this time for results. Fingers crossed that Ron and You get good news today from the GP. We all wait for outcome after your visit to the GP today. William x

I don't think he has been tested for b12 deficiency will check with him when he gets home. As for sleeping , at the weekend he does fall asleep on the sofa and he has been doing it for quite a while now. He comes home from work very tired and by 7.30 , 8 at the latest hes in bed . There has been times when he cant lift his left foot up the stairs so I do it for him. His balance is terrible . So tomorrow morning I might be interviewed for ITV lunchtime news to talk about the challenges of managing your diabetes. I responded to a tweet from Diabetes UK, apparently more depressing stats came out today and they want some positive stories. So watch this space - I'll obviously be advocating self management and low carbing

Yes @JohnEGreen I totally agree. Luckily your kidney function has improved and may do so even more. Low carb seems to do it. Or have you been taking supplements too? Well done improving your health status mate. Keep us updated with your improvements. I love good news!Oh and as we were talking about kidney function I and that my test result was 63 a cause for concern I thought he replied yes but that is an improvement on previous results that had been well below 60 for quite some while first time I had heard of it well I'm glad it's improved but I would like to have been informed earlier that there was a problem.
