I know this is addressed to Vicky rather than me, Barbara, but I just wanted to offer you my sympathy and send you some big, squashy hugs. Hot flushes, no matter what the cause, are yucky and I really do feel for you.Hi Vicky @ickihun, I thought I'd reply to you here rather than on the fbg thread. I didn't want to say anything there but I've started having hot flushes at night, which is why I was tossing and turning. I told my nurse about it and she said I should have a blood test to check my hormone levels, I'll be doing that next week. Thanks for your concern, you know how much I appreciate it xx

I still get them from time to time, in spite of being told by my GP that at my age I should be well past all that. I also get a brief feeling of panic when they start, despite having been intimately acquainted with them for at least 20 years! The panic is transitory, though, and I have a big fan at the side of the bed, so I just toss the duvet off and turn the fan on full, and that usually resolves the problem fairly quickly.
I am definitely coming back as a man the next time!

Aww thanks Debra, even though my mum is sympathetic she didn't have a single hot flush when she was going through the change. It means a lot to be able to talk to someone who understandsI know this is addressed to Vicky rather than me, Barbara, but I just wanted to offer you my sympathy and send you some big, squashy hugs. Bless you Barbara. I think your my inspiration. I hope I'm like you when the hormones start turning in earnest. I might have to find a desert island somewhere to moan to myself. I feel for my boys.Hi Vicky @ickihun, I thought I'd reply to you here rather than on the fbg thread. I was going to ask his name!!! Ha haNote :
When I say I have a big fan at the side of the bed, I'm referring to an electric oscillating one, not a large admirer. (Hah!! I wish...)
I'm having to wash my long hair more often. Do you think it might be time to get a shorter hair cut to manage the sweat more @debrasue ? Or being kept up helps enough?Aww thanks Debra, even though my mum is sympathetic she didn't have a single hot flush when she was going through the change. Aww I'm blushing now! I think keeping yourself busy is definitely a big help when it comes to the change, my mum was barely affected by it and she was a supply teacher at the time - she was dashing about like a clockwork mouse so didn't have the time to get affected by hormones! Your comment about the library made me smile, we've always been readers too. When John and A were diagnosed with Aspergers we read so many books about it we could have put a library to shame! In fact, we got so many books about it from our local library they would recognise us when we came inBless you Barbara. I think your my inspiration. You are so calm and cheerful. Most of all, busy.
Do you think that is the answer to get through this stressful time? Distraction?
I still have a lot of sweats but I think more to do with insulin changing my bg levels and tramadol side affect now too. I wouldnt say I've hit menopause yet.
Does night sweats normally a sign of its start?
I must read up on it so I'm prepared. Any good websites found showing how best to cope with it?
My mum would be the best to educate me but she exercises selective memory. Her memory is fine. Especially where bingo promotions are concerned. Ha ha. Mothers!
We girls will go through it together and keep each other right, if you like?
@tina_marie is too young too so we'll mother her when its her turn too?
Type2 hormonal women's group? Should I start a new thread now?
I'll need as much info I can get my hands on. That's how I cope with stress. Read my way through it! Years gone by I would have used the reference library to order a fat juicy book. My mum and sisters thought they were door stops.
Law books are big fat heavy things unless you buy the companion books for carrying days without the car.
They've moved our library again. Whsmith have left sunderland city centre. They were good for ordering the most useful books.
I must admit my tablet doubles up as a kindle most days. I'll share a decent paperback with you thou. Leave it with me. I might need something like 'a dummies guide to the menopause'. See what I can come up with!
In the mean while I'm available for you. ♡♥♡

Blessings to you too, Johnny, and here's another cyberhug for you to add to your collection!Good Morning, to all my lovely friends on Type 2 Life from PC No 1, a Public Computer, at Tate South Lambeth Public Library,
I am posting to inform you that, this morning, Saturday 18th March, in the Anno Domini Year of 2017, I consumed 1 tomato sandwich on crusty Sainsbury's Bloomer bread with Sesame Seeds on the crust and a mug of Coffee with a generous sprinkling of Sainsbury's Sucralose Granulated Sweetener. I also had a nice, warm shower, in my new bathroom, and felt cleansed, invigorated and refreshed afterwards. I speak to my elderly Daddy on the telephone this morning at 10:00 Ante Meridian (Greenwich Mean Time) and I take my medication and Lixisenatide Glucagon-Like Peptide 20 mcg subcutaneous injecten then, also.
I won't be able to log on tomorrow as the library is closed (Sunday 19th March 2017 AD.
Have a lovely day, and best wishes and big cuddles to all of you, especially my dear friend and good support Diamum (Barbara) who has been unwell presently. Don't worry, hun, I'm going to light a candle for you and pray for your healing. Thank you for being a good friend.
And blessings to you, lovely @debrasue for your cyberhug on my last post. I love you.
From,
Johnny Baker (@autisticwonder1970) sufferer of Asperger Syndrome and Personality Disorder NOS. x X x.
