Type 2 Life

I agree with @4ratbags I keep a packet of M+S crispy bacon strips and also mini babybels and a block of my fav cheese in the fridge at all times. I snack on almonds (just 2 or 3) or a couple of walnuts too. Another poster on here takes a tablespoonful of double cream, which she says is enough to satisfy. Hope these suggestions help x

5.4 this morning. Slept a bit longer than usual but had very few carbs yesterday. More walking yesterday and had been under 5 each time I tested yesterday including after evening meal.

5.4 am, sunday lie in....
@4ratbags sorry to read about pets, always a sad time.
@ickihun keep on with the prog, it's not easy and you're doing good.

Not too sure when I saw the sun in the sky... not that it gets out to play too often around here at this time of year...
got out for a walk last night, which made a good change.... it was not raining!

Hello @ickihun . I hate to sound negative but I was prescribed and taking zenical when I was diagnosed. It reacts when you eat any fat causing the need to visit toilet. It is rather unpleasant. I avoided fat at all costs but as a result I was eating more and more carbs to try to fill up. I felt that taking this was a contributing factor to my diagnosis of type 2. I really do hate to provide negative information but maybe if lchf is working so well maybe trying that for a period first may be better than embarking on a fat free high carb diet.

@ickihun what kinds of treats do you like. Ive found a lot of LC recipes on the net and I always make sure I have a variety of treats in the freezer so if I feel lile the urge to pig out it is all LC.
@4ratbags it's that sweet tooth still gets me in trouble. lol
I did make a cake with sweetner 2 weeks ago but none since.
I could do a batch and freeze them.
I'll see if I can get better quality ingredients on friday. ( I hope I remember).
I could buy some flavourings (essence? )
I used to bake regularly before having my toddler. I'm just waiting for him to qualify for nursery.
He's into everything. A climber and thrower. He cannot just watch a cartoon without interferring with something up high.
Not a chocolate person but anything sweet will make me feel pampered. lol

I've tried not using artificial sweeteners in baking but reduce the sugar in half or down to a third and seems to work for me,

FBG today of 5.1 mmol/l, now that my insulin has been titrated upwards I am getting below 7 mmol/l on waking.

Talking about weight loss it can be done, no girl power here lol. I went from 105kg to 87kg and took me 3 years. Alas the weight loss did nothing for my insulin resistance but I don't half feel healthier for it !

@ickihun your little one sounds like my grand daughter, doesnt know what sit still means. How long before he can go to nursery. Definately do some baking and freeze it, I find its a lifesaver. Even if I have a bad day and I find Im constantly snacking it doesnt impact my BS because it was all LC and tasty.

Morning. Yawn. FBG of 4.9 mmol/l so good. Hopefully my HbA1c's will be better in March when I'm due to be reviewed. Have a great day T2's !

4.8 am
dark and cold and off to make a cup of tea...
Good day to all round here.

A high 6.8 for me this morning could be ladies things that have pushed it up. Off to Desmond course today will catch up later
