Type 2 Life

@ickihun - I was thinking the very same - that the time has come for tablets for @TooManyCrisps ! I'm okay at the moment with the 'gliflozin', it does make you a bit queasy, I drink Twinings Ginger & Lemon Tea to settle upset stomach/feeling sick and this works for me. But not everybody is suited to that tablet we take? You take Insulin also? - I take Insulin And still on 4 x 500mg Metformin and the 'gliflozin' everyday.:)
I've been able to reduce my insulin. No metformin after years of upset stomach but i would like to reintroduce it as less fattening than insulin. I'll have to convince specialist. Fingers crossed late April.
Thanks for ginger tip. Even when i was pregnant (twice ) i was never sickly. Hum... ha ha trust me. Im such a mare!
Youre a good listener. Thanks. :) :hungover: :(

I forgot to ask....how do you know that your metformin is still working?

@ickihun - Metformin can help a type 2 lose weight, but that is because it lowers your appetite. I keep asking the Diabetologist to take me off Metformin (been on the stuff 14 years) but it was explained that it lowers the amount of sugar created by the Liver, and decreases the amount of sugar absorbed by the intestines - so it's doing something.:) Hope you start to feel better! When you are not well - you have to let us know:) Take care:cat::cat:

Thanks @liam1955 You too. :)

Sorry @mo53 - Been doing my good deed's. How are you? And your blood sugars today after your housework? :) Can I help you with anything?

Hello @liam1955 . I'm fine thank you. I've woken up in the middle of the night again. I'm glad you are doing your good deeds. You are a kind person. While I remember , we are going away for a long weekend so I won't be able to log on for a few days as I won't have wifi. So if I am not around that will be why. :)

Hi @liam1955 and @ickihun. Thanls for your advice. I am really trying to avoid medication if at all possible. However my morning readings are not great. It was 8.4 this morning. I'm now debating whether or not to have breakfast.

@TooManyCrisps you should have breakfast - before anything else. A low carb breakfast (no carb) will settle your 8.4 down.
8.4 isn't a disaster. A little tweak needed, that's all.
Have breakfast and no heavy stress/exercise with a 2 hour test. Let me know what your meter reads. Please.
By the way, what meter are you using?

@TooManyCrisps
Your HbA1c will have gone down a lot from where it was. It's an average for the last 3 months not just your fasting readings. I worked out the average of my readings (that I had taken) over last 3 months 5.9 and my HbA1c still came back at 33. If you look at my fasting readings they are sometimes a bit high even now. What are your readings at other times?

I think we've miss each other.
Give it a try tomorrow morning and try and let me know. I know hard when busy!
Good luck! :)

Thanks @mo53 for letting us know you are away this weekend. Just chill out and enjoy yourself and have a great time. :D

Just want to say that my 5.3 fasting this morning was good for me. The last time I had this number was way back in early November 2015.:)

Thank You @Hiitsme for your nice comment.:) For the last 7 nights around 11 - 11.30pm (it began as an experiment) I have 3 Crackerwheat buttered with slices of cheese and every morning my fasting results have all been in the 5's. So, I will continue doing this each night.:)

Hi. Readings are always high in the mornings and then seem to drop as the day goes on. So my pre-lunch reading is usially 7+, pre-dinner reading is usually 6+, 2 hours post meal is usually (but not always) under 9. My average post meal readings for the last 14 days are 8.1, but that includes post breakfast readings which are usually much higher. I need to get out a calculator and work out the post lunch and dinner readings.
I'm going g to book an HBA1C test for early April to see what's really going on. My HBA1C on diagnosis 10 weeks ago was 97, so it's hopefully improved since then!
