Type 2 Life

I've been moving the furniture around the living room in preparation for tomorrow's last carpet cleaning event.

The Toblerone was one of the big ones, they were on a 3 for £10 offer but I just bought one. (Now that's what I call self control)

I know I use humour to deflect and most of the time I'm going for the laughs, but I was feeling very guilty earlier.

Now I've had cauliflower and prawn Rogan Josh so I'm happy again.

Quite partial to a cauliflower and prawn Rogan Josh myself... and then there are aubergines.... :)

Well done on that result, @paula.nolan42, I would love a result like that but fear it's a long way off.
@liam1955, you sound in better spirits today, so I hope you are feeling brighter and are in less pain.

@amgrundy, I'm so sorry about your dad. My dad is in remission from prostate cancer, he had radiotherapy a few years ago and so far seems to be doing well. It's such a worry, isn't it? Like you say, it hopefully will turn out to be something minor and treatable.

I am really looking forward to a 4 day weekend - woohoo. Nothing special planned, although my parents are coming over for Easter Monday. They live about 60 miles away and I haven't seen them for a few weeks. Husband comes back from skiiing this weekend, just as our younger son goes off camping in the Lake District for a week. Rather him than me with this weather! I've got a friend coming over tomorrow night, we'll open a bottle of wine and have a good natter.

What's everyone else up to?

Hi TooManyCrisps, I am so glad your father is doing well. Yes it is certainly a worry, think I worry about him more than he does. have a good time with your parents at Easter. Have a good night too with your friend have a drink for me too. ;)

I am going out with my 'girl-friend' tomorrow at 1Oam and we are having a Cheeseburger & Chips (mayonnaise on my chips) my once a month treat for being so very good! And then going clothes shopping for her and I want to buy an Easter Egg for my partner. What you doing @mo53 ? And @13lizanne ? @TooManyCrisps have a drink for me, at this rate you are going to be Sozzled, and @amgrundy hope you have a great Easter Friday.

@liam1955 your treat sounds good. I like cheeseburger. Good luck with your clothes shopping I hope something nice is found. I've woken up rediculously early again but hopefully when I return to bed I will go back to sleep. I'm not sure what I'm up to today. Have fun everybody. :)

Lovely morning in these parts.
5.0
Going to be a busy day at the work place and then the weekend. SiL is up and got a leg of lamb.
Seeing Skerryvore in St A's on Sunday.
Toots to all.

Morning all, up ridiculously early - I usually find my body clock doesn't reset itself until the end of a school holiday, just in time for me to struggle to get up on the first day back :hilarious:
It's been a strange week, the consultation for compulsory redundancies at work has made it abundantly clear to all that my boss wants me gone (I have known this for some time but it has shocked some of my colleagues). I've been surprised by quite how much support I've had from the rest of the staff though, so much solidarity being shown, it has touched my heart. Weirdly, I'm feeling quite galvanised by the whole sorry situation, like this will give me the push I need to move on to bigger and better things. I know for a fact that if this had happened a year ago I wouldn't have felt so positive, but having taken control of my T2 and my weight over the last 12 months has given me back my self-confidence. I'm so grateful to all of my friends on this forum for their encouragement and support over this year, I feel like I'm standing tall with my buddies instead of wallowing alone in a black hole of depression (been there before!). :joyful:

@Alzebra - we're with you all the way. You are standing in a position of great strength simply because you are not alone, it's just as you say. "Touch one- touch all"

@Alzebra, I'm so sorry you're going through this. But you have a great attitude and maybe it will be a case of "one door closes, another (better) door opens." I'm sure that getting control of your diabetes and your weight has given you loads of confidence.

Good luck.

Hi all, sorry for my absence - DS has given me a streaming cold! I hardly got a wink of sleep and had a thumping headache when I got up so I decided to have a lazy day. The worst thing is I dropped my phone when I got up to go to the loo and now the screen is cracked Luckily I have plenty of paracetomol in stock so I took some before I went to bed and I feel much better now. Even better, after having virtually no carbs yesterday my FBG this morning was 5.8!

@Alzebra I would like to say it's good you've been able to take support from this group to deal with your DB and your other issues and that it's you that has got the zip to tackle what is coming your way. Glad to hear you're getting support from colleagues at work. Fight the good fight to get what you want. I wish you well with. Hj

Hi @Alzebra Really do hope things work out for the best for you. Remember we are here for you if you do need to rant. I think you are doing really well. Hold your head up high!

@Alzebra - What can I say that the others have not already said! = You have been amazing during the past 12 months, Well Done.:)

Played tennis today, 2hrs BG 7.0 at the beginning, then 10.3 30mins after we finished :banghead: lol feel knackered but my sciatica has now gone, and my finger has freed itself up as when I woke up my trigger finger (index) had locked itself in the closed position, so overall pretty good day so far.

@13lizanne - Anna you are still No.1 'girl-friend':). Enjoyed my Cheeseburger and chips and Latte - we go to this Italian Bistro/Cafe and you can see everything being cooked to order fresh. My blood sugar when I got home was 4.7 at 2.30pm so I am really pleased and this morning's fasting was 5.7 and I received a 'winner' rating from @ickihun too. My partner this morning presented me with a 9 inch (steady now!!) White Chocolate Thorntons Rabbit for Easter. So, that I don't have to share mine, I bought him a Milk Chocolate Egg with a White Chocolate Butterfly on it. Hope everyone has had a good day?:)

Well done @liam1955, that's a cracking score! I popped into town this afternoon to enjoy a bit of sunshine so I'm feeling better now, still a bit sniffly but much better than yesterday. Enjoy your choccy bunny, I won't be indulging - I was only diagnosed 5 months ago so it's too soon to be thinking about that much chocolate!

@Diamum5972 - so you are a "newbie" then! But you are doing really well with your Diabetes. Oh, sorry you are not well, drink plenty and put your feet up and let others pamper you for a change. Hope you feel better soon. Sending you a HUG.:)

@mo53 - Happy Easter Friday to you. Did you enjoy your shopping this morning?
What's going on with your blood sugars??? I was very surprised with my reading this morning - never expected 5.7? My partner signed for receipt of the drug from the courier today. 4 boxes each containing 2 Syringes, and It is 2 injections every week for 4 weeks, and then 2 injections every month. Cannot wait for Tuesday to arrive and start it. Have to go and make dinner, chat later.:)
