Type 2 Life

Someone in my office had a fan on as he thought it was too hot. Unfortunately he was sitting back-to-back with me so when the fan blew on his face it also blew down the back of my neck! I ended up moving desks.....
Ooh, dear. Hope you haven't got a stiff neck through it

Right! so my blood sugar has rocketed throughout the day, I'm coughing, sneezing and aching all over, my glands are the size of golf balls and - we are going on holiday tomorrow:(
Enjoy holiday regardless Anna. Have a great time. I hope your still popping in herethou?
Im i being needy?

Heehee, can tell you're used to giving a comeback to Eddie's comments
Well I've not had the pleasure of making Eddie's acquaintance previously, but I have to admit I do love a challenge and a spirited exchange! I'll have to drop in a few more creative commas and perhaps some misplaced apostrophes, to see if I can lure him in again! :playful:

Lol @debrasue. No wonder people think I'm pedantic. I was just pulling your leg to make you laugh and feel better. It's cold and the 15 tog duvet will be adequate tonight. It's 2°C here in Scotland and for late April that's unusual. Night night.
Love it! Feel free to engage at any time - I love good banter. :)
Sorry not to have replied last night - I got side-tracked watching the foxes playing outside and I don't know where the time went.
Two degrees???! I'd need half a dozen 30 tog duvets, Ovaltine therapy and a couple of those foil blankets!!!

5.2, seems to be my favourite number in the morning and that's okay. Steak, salad and red wine, one glass, 5.0 before and 5.4 afterwards.

I have split open my middle finger just next to the corner of the nail and it is taking an age to heal.... months. I burnt myself baking a while back and again it too for ever to heal up.... just wondering. I have a couple of worts on fingers, one the size of a small pea and it's been there couple years now and shows no sign of fading... they do say DBs should not be aggressive against them.... sometimes wonder.

Really not nice out this morning. Son getting picked up in village, rather than hare off to Cupar, his group are having a day in Dundee, which is fine.

morning all looking like had a another hypo in my sleep again last night woke feeling clammy and fbg was 4.0 rechecked half hr later and got 4.6 so either managed to stop the liver dumb this morning or hypo'd in my sleep.
sending you lots of hugs and love @13lizanne and I hope you have a wonderful time on your hols
well done @ickihun on your great levels this morning great to see you getting back in control
have a good day all time I signed of and get ready for my hospital visit today and hopefully get some answers to my problems with my legs
ron

Morning all,

Kim that is great news and at least now you can move forward without the added worry of where mum is going.

13lizanne, Murphy's Law.....that says I am due to go on Holiday and have started to relax.....which then allows every bug instant access! Have a good holiday and hope the bug goes soon.

Eldergarth hope the hospital visit goes well And you start to get to the bottom of the leg issue!

To everyone else have a good day and remember its a long weekend ahead which proably means we are all in for Hail, snow and sleet.

I have just had Husband re check my BS this morning as it came in at 5.0.....I origionally thought it was 15! Oh yea of little faith :-)

Have you tried honey on your sore finger? (But don't lick your fingers! :joyful:)
Germoline is also one of my favourites - very old-school! (I think it might be because I just like the word - it's wonderfully expressive!)
As regards warts, I do get the odd one occasionally (my GP thoughtfully pointed out that they are part of the ageing process! :grumpy:). But I'd never heard that about DBs and I'm always very aggressive with them ("You're a horrible little wart and I'm gonna GET you!"). I usually get them frozen off at my local NHS clinic and, in fact, just had one done last week which is healing up nicely.
When I was a child my dad used to "magic" them away with broad bean pods, buried in the garden with a few incantations. It always worked, but then we were very gullible as children! :)

Good Morning, my friends, on this pleasant April morning in the year 2016,

I've had a good morning and took my medication, metformin, and other medications for my Adult ADHD and Asperger Syndrome and high blood pressure and urinary retention. I also had a few cups of coffee but with 0 calorie silver spoon artificial sweetener tablets. I also had two slices of Kingsmill white bread with a generous layer of Marmite spread on them. And my friend Matthew brought over some sandwiches that the church had donated to his wife, a rotund, diabetic west indian lady with a heart of gold and a tremendous aptitude for loving other people, and she told Matthew to bring them over for me. I had a small, but tasty and moderately filling felafel wrap which had shredded red cabbage and cucumber in it. I took my blood sugar at quarter past nine and it was 12.4, very high considering I took my metformin. I am doing appalling at managing my diabetes, and don't think I have much control over what I eat and have very little dietary knowledge. People with Adult ADHD struggle with this and my Asperger Syndrome symptoms make it very difficult for me to consume fruit and veg because the taste makes me feel very nauseous and I don't like the texture of them. That contravenes the way I was brought up because my mum and dad used to put veggies and stuff through a liquidiser and pour the contents in a baby bottle before I was on solids. I'm doing appalling I really am. But it's so cool to have you guys for support and emotional encouragement and for that I am so grateful and thankful.

Just leave the heating on

@debrasue Thank you for your note. I will check with my GP again on worts and get some honey for dipping purposes only. :)

Hi Johnny!
I don't know what time you had the falafel (I'll bet it was delicious) but they are quite high in carbs so that may have been what put your BG level up, and the bread's not good, either.
If you're not keen on fruit and veg, maybe try to eat more meat, fish, cheese and eggs - that would help your diabetes. How about a couple of boiled eggs for your breakfast and some slices of cheese?
Onwards and upwards, Johnny - you're learning new stuff every day!

Good morning Johnny, well done for trying the sweetener in your coffee. My son also has difficulty eating vegetables because of his Aspergers Syndrome, he will eat raw carrots and red peppers but he won't eat any cooked vegetables. Have you tried eating raw pepper sticks? Even though the falafel wrap had some vegetables in it is still quite high in carbohydrates, so if you could try the vegetables on their own it wouldn't affect your blood glucose as much. Thank you for considering us your friends, I like hearing your daily updates.

I'd love to have seen the foxes. I know there are some around out back but have yet to see one. Mayb as I'm usually walking a dog might be the reason. Have in the past had to wash Fox pooh off dogs neck when I've not been fast enough to stop them rolling in it. The stickiest, stinkiest stuff I've EVER come across....
