Sorry my phones playing up, well since I've been diabetic my brain doesn't work!!! Gone off booze completly, never touch it now, got 2 bottles champagne, baileys, wine, ect here, gonna offer it to my daughters partner next time they come, you could have had it with your pompadoms if you lived closer!! Ha ha. Enjoy your weekend and food

Tonight's one of those challenges. My partner is away unexpectedly, worked until 7pm, totally whacked. In the old days it would be a delivery night. Thankfully found a Chicken Korma from COOK in the freezer, with some broccoli, 10g carbs - a few biscuits and cheese, plus some red wine. Just need to get over the slight low I'm feeling about diabetes tonight. I know I was good all week, 5 good swims, good food, but when you are tired it's a challenge to keep good control.

At least I didn't give in, sorry for rambling - tomorrow I'll be rested and strong again
 
Good Morning, my friends and mutual diabetics,

I am posting to inform you all that, although I've ran out of blood glucose meter testing strips, I feel relatively healthy and administered orally my 1000 millogrammes of Metformin Hydrochloride and my Asperger Syndrome and Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder medication as well as my anti-hypertension medication and medication for urinary retention.

Yesterday evening I consumed a Sausage in Onion Gravy and Mashed Potato ready meal from Iceland Freezer Supermarket.

This morning I consumed 2 mugs of Red Mountain coffee with Coffeemate and 0 Calorie Silver Spoon Artificial Sweetener tablets and 2 large mugs of tap water and a fried egg sandwich made from one slice of bread cut in half and I put a little bit of salt on it.

Have a really lovely Saturday and I pray that the weather and situational event is kind to you whatever geographical location you are predominant in.
 
@johnnybaker45 so pleased that you are managing to stick to the artificial sweetners that is a really big step so well done.

@PenfoldAPD Ahh mate, big hug, you need to overcook one of your lovely receipes and some of your propsed baking and freeze it for those "too knackered to deal with it" times. We had a totally whacked evening last weekend I ended up discovering that local Chinese takeaway does fantastic Omlettes which have been added to the armoury

I have just measured at 6.5 this morning after spending all day yesterday in the 5's, my weekly average this week for 40 tests is 5.8 before meal average of 5.6 And after meal average of 5.5. I have had no tests over 8.0 all week and only 3 between 7.0 and 8.0 all the rest have been between 4.4 And 7.0. So happy happy with those results.

Lovely day today but cold! Off to an Aqua Class this morning to kick start the day, then will go and sort out the horse and try to get yet more of his winter coat stripped out.

well done @Lindy1706 on those results I know you have come a long way to get there since you joined us
got my review on Tuesday so fingers crossed my hba1c will have improved but my levels are all over the place at the moment with the pain in my hips and knees .

Morning everyone, I'm going out for the day so I won't be online till later. @johnnybaker45 well done for trying the sweetener and reducing the amount of bread in your sandwich, they might seem like little things but they can make a big difference.
@Lindy1706 those are fantastic numbers, well done!

That contravenes the way I was brought up because my mum and dad used to put veggies and stuff through a liquidiser and pour the contents in a baby bottle before I was on solids. I'm doing appalling I really am. But it's so cool to have you guys for support and emotional encouragement and for that I am so grateful and thankful.

@johnnybaker45 you are doing well by coming on here and trying to learn from others. You mentioned in a previous post that you have carers to support you with buying food and cooking. Do talk to your social worker or care coordinator about what you are trying to achieve with your blood sugars, and request that the care workers support you appropriately by buying the relevant food etc.

Have you tried cauliflower rice? You blitz some cauliflower in a food processor until it looks a bit like rice. Then you can use it instead of rice. If you don't have a food processor then you can buy it ready prepared in most supermarkets. It is low carb and very tasty.

It's very kind of your friends to give you food, but a falafel wrap has double carbs, as the falafel is very carb heavy. I love falafel and really miss eating them.

You have had a rollercoaster lately. It can affect hormones etc...
Take heart you're doing fantastic. You're kicking diabetes' s but.
I must add you're very good at it. You're come back was perfect. Angelic even! ;)
@PenfoldAPD you're a shining example of a brilliant diabetic.
You should be very proud of yourself. Well done.
Keep going with your winning formula. It is worth it. :)

@eldergarth you will have a good hba1c result but if you're having a different problem your gp needs to advise.
What did your gp say?
 
Been reading threads this week, but not much time for writing replies!

Just been shopping for jeans which fit better. I do not understand these new numbers which are suddenly appearing in my clothing. Nor the vocabulary of "Skinny" or "Slim Leg". More to the point, the Evans shops I used to frequent have both closed! I was wanting to check if their smallest jeans size was now too big for me. But, there they were, not there.

Ah that is such a lovely thing to say @ickihun it's made my day! All better today - swam for nearly 40 minutes this morning - a good LCHF purchased from M&S services and now off to buy a tent, it's a good day.

@eldergarth - Hi. But, is that not just a 'standard statement' that the X-Ray technicians just say! Only because my Mum-in-law had a chest x-Ray done on Monday, she rang GP Surgery yesterday to be told the results were back and got an appointment to see GP on Monday. Just a thought, but you could ring your GP Surgery on Monday to ask?:)

Hi will I think it is but told me that the hospital would review the xrays before being sent to gp "just in case " there was anything that needed urgent attention
 
Good Afternoon, my good, dear friends on www.diabetes.co.uk,

I am posting to share with you all that I only had a small lunch today which comprised a sandwich made from 1 slice of white Kingsmill bread, Countrylife English butter and 1 fried egg. This followed an early meal of button sprouts boiled for 15 minutes with butter and I have also had 2 glasses of nice, thirst-quenching and refreshing tap water. I am also actively participating in my smoking cessation preloading programme, intended by nhs smokefree for individuals with a long term illness to gradually diminish the cigarettes they smoke whilst using nicotine replacement therapy products and combat the withdrawal symptoms of tobacco. I have only smoked 13 hand-rolled ciggies as opposed to my 40+ ciggies.

I am hoping to have a Beef Lasagne ready meal from Iceland supermarket tonight.

I am also contemplating trying the cauliflower rice that a www.diabetes.co.uk member suggested to myself. I don't own a food processor but I do have an extraordinary-looking potato masher which should do the trick. It is good to improvise. I shall have the cauliflower rice with my curried tuna and chopped onion meal as opposed to consuming complex carbohydrate-rich rice.
