Type 2 Life

*GOSSIP ALERT* ....met my ex girlfriend the other day. We just split on good terms and we had a good catch up over a cuppa, I think she was flirting with me. Been a bit confused since. Me and women, I'm doomed lol. ;):D

Oh, and

@liam stopped canagliflozin this morning. No weight loss anyway so waste of time. In fact with side affect it increases bg and weight from retained liquids. I drink constantly so not me. Stupid tablet. It's ok for a few weeks then it builds up to tablet from hell. More insulin but I'm hoping long term I can decrease again.
I've ordered r-ala which is a suppliment which makes insulin more desensitive. I should be able to reduce insulin injection amount by 3rd or half.
Should arrive next week so I'll let you know how I get on. In germany it is on prescription to all diabetics, I believe @PenfoldAPD . Can you quiz your germany friend? Is he diabetic or know a german one?
William have a good day today I have my bbq planned so just need some salad and buns for the boys. :)
Will try and make ice cream low carb later if no pain to distract me.
Took ibuprofen yesterday and today so bgs will be a bit higher til I can strangle them with lchf. Ha ha

My friend is actually a Medical student, he doesn't know r-ala, going to check as he has 3 friends who are type 2 ...

Right...Ive never bought a pair in my entire life, but I've promised I will when I hit my Personal Fat Threshold....hopefully in the next 3 months...so plenty of time to save:)

I think it's great to set goals like that. I told myself when I was down to 72kgs I'd buy some new clothes - hit the duty free shops in Stansted on Thursday ... so new clothes and tax savings :)

@eddie1968 , no harm in sending a text/phoning saying you enjoyed chatting with her would she like to meet up again? The worst that can happen is that she says "no" and you'll never know if she is interested if you don't ask. (Unsolicited advice from me :) )
We met in town and followed me about whilst I was doing my errands. I asked if she wanted a cuppa and have a catch up at the cafe. She said she had lost her phone and asked for my number and I gave her mine. She said she missed me and my humour and as we were parting she said I could visit anytime. I mainly listened and gave her an update on my life and didn't ask for contact details or if I could see her again, I thought it was rude to ignore her and just wanted a chat. :)
Ps. I got a txt 10 mins after parting saying she enjoyed our catch up and wanted to see me soon !

BEEP, BEEP ... Caution! Caution! If you've still got feelings for her, tread very carefully, Eddie....
I'm probably going to be hugely unpopular for saying this, but exes can appear flirtatious when a new relationship in their own lives has turned its toes up, working on the (perhaps unconscious) principle "Well, my bruised ego needs a boost and I know I can always reel HIM back in, if I want to..."
If you're just looking for a mate to have a cuppa with from time to time, that's fine, but if you're secretly harbouring hopes for a reunion it's worth getting all the facts first!
Good luck with it - if nothing else, love can always put a spring in your step! xx
:)

Morning all, it's another bright and sunny one today. I've got my voluntary work this afternoon but apart from that I'm hibernating - high temperatures send my BG into orbit! I was 7.2 this morning despite walking for 90 minutes yesterday, and having a good low carb day. Hope everyone has a good day

So, I'm a bit confused.....
I have been working with a GlucoRx Nexus meter up to now but the strips are very expensive and, as I'm self-finding like most of us, I thought I'd try a CodeFree as a back-up. I set up the CodeFree this morning, did a test and then did a test with the Nexus to compare the results, and the CodeFree was a whole point higher than the Nexus. I had expected there to be a slight difference, but a whole point..?? And which one do I believe? Have I been getting incorrect readings with the Nexus up to now?

Totally agree, I know she's been single since we split and I kinda ended us anyway. I had too much going on in my life and was ill and tbh did not want to commit to a long term relationship anyway. I'm not going on a desperate crusade but probably just keep her in the "friend" column, I don't hate her I am just seeing how things are. :)

I'm really glad I get free meters/lancets/strips now. The whole self monitoring game is expensive, especially if you test 4 times a day which all T2's should., especially those on oral hypoglycaemics. :)

Good plan - but don't lose sight of the fact that she will almost certainly have her own agenda, and it might not coincide with yours!!

I'm wiser now, more defensive and read people like you read books lol. She's not the be all and end in my life and she knows it. Actually I don't fall in love so easy now but I'm not negative and pessimistic either. I will take it very slowly and judge from there and if I don't like what I see then I can move on, I've did it before.:)

@debrasue I'm really quite a funny, witty and interesting person face to face in real life. I think that's what attracts some women to me that I meet in the real world. They all say I'm different (don't know if this is a compliment lol) and I do cheer up people who are down and I like to see them smile and laugh. I do however have a serious side like everybody. That's my CV so far lol. :)

Yeah, make some unbelievable garbage up, reality can be such a drag lmao :D
Well, I heard the other day that ITV are going to be launching a new reality TV show - The Queen Rules. It's going to be a fly-on-the-wall documentary exposing the royal family exactly as they are, slumped around the TV in their onesies, eating pizza and arguing whose turn it is to let the corgis out, or discussing Andrew's new relationship with Courtney Love.
