Type 2 Life

Feeling good. Battery of tests to check my ticker went fine and the consultant tells me I can start cardio exercise again...yippee. 1.8m, 76 kg, medics want me to get to 70kg for personal fat threshold, but at least I've now lost 21lbs In 6 weeks in LCHF. BP has tumbled as well...so a very happy day. :)

Brilliant! Well done, Kevin

.... and I'll hold everybody's coats. :shy:
Never rejoined anythink so much in my life!!!! No chance of forgetting my email address!!! I'll get all my walking AIDS out as weapons! Ha ha. Better buy extra food for all us diabetics if I'm gonna have company. Thanks everyone you've made me laugh today. Hope I can return the favour (hugs).

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't been on here for a few days. Work has been manic. I'll try to catch up with the threads.

I have taken a days annual leave tomorrow in order to do a Desmond course. I haven't got high expectations. I will be very cross if I find myself stuck in a room being told to eat brown bread. Especially if it's a gorgeous day like today when i could be outside. @eldergarth, didn't you do a Desmond course recently which you you said was awful? We can compare notes after tomorrow

I am now going to get out of my work clothes and catch some sun in the garden.
What's the score on these courses, folks? I've not been invited to do any yet, but from what I've been reading on here I'm not very optimistic about them anyway. Does one HAVE to attend? Or can you just say "Thanks, but no thanks"...?

Talking about feeling guilty.... I don't know what came over me but I've just eaten a huge bowl of toffee fudge ice cream - there goes the ketosis!

Lol my mum will be at the front waving her blind cane around like Errol Flynn! She's lethal with that thing!

My friends and family tell me I only have to look at them a certain way and they feel guilty, somehow I think that it might not work with Maureen's horrible neighbour. I think that @tina_marie might be our best bet, but we'd have to go this week :)

I am type 2 but my diabetic team recommended that I attend the 5 day DAFNE course aimed at type 1

I learned so much it was deffo worth attending

I'm on MDI's and take on board a lot of insulin both bolus and basal

I would recommend this for anyone on insulin be it type 1 or type 2

I'm med-free at this stage.......

Do you have any idea which painkiller your Mum was given for her arthritis, Vicki?
Not diclofenac but another. I'll her it's name again.
Bless her she's having an op today on her second from big toe because of buckled arthritis has left them twisted and up. I'm calling her at 7pm for an update. Sister is with her at mo.
