Type 2 Life

Take care of yourself Johnny and try and eat something healthy for your tea.
Don't worry too much about what other people say or do - you have good friends, both in your daily life and on this forum, and it's good that you can make them coffee, enjoy their company and appreciate their support.
Hugs

@ickihun

Vicki, I'm so sorry to hear about your Nan, please accept my deepest sympathies for you and all the family. You have a lifetime of happy memories that will make you laugh and cry at the same time. Take care, Karen xx

Hi all,

Hope it's a reasonably good day for everybody. The weather here can't make up it's mind what it wants to do, I just hope all the rain comes & goes before half-term starts.

After a mizzly start it's been quite pleasant here most of the day. Sat in a bit of sun (if I sit up straight and breeze doesn't blow the trees too much) and other than Bligh's collar clanking against his bowl and the odd chuff from Buster the birdies are singing and leaves rustling in breeze. Lovely

This thread has been quiet all weekend. It's nice and sunny here and 18C. Making Sunday dinner. :)

Watching 80's music and learning am I am not as young as I thought anymore lol :D

Going to see my sister and her kids/grandkids later and every time I take my iPad up grandkids want to use it and I am stuck with my phone lol :)

Why is it there is always someone arkward about funeral arrangements being about everyone not just one grandchild or child?
Family life is a wonderful thing but argh!!!! Scream thread might be used and abused.
I guess the bigger the family, the more the hoo har.
I'm keeping cool. Nana always said she would leave us to fight amongst her belongings. I received everything I wanted. The best nana in the world! Pottery galore made to the same sentiment.
Memories galore to match. Wonderful.

@ickihun, you have a very lovely and health attitude. I'm so sorry for your loss. The problem with funerals is that you have to sort them out when everyone is at their most raw/vulnerable, and when emotions are running high. So sometimes there are lots of tensions.
Sending you love and hugs.

@ickihun sending you a big (((hug))). Funerals can bring out the worst in people, instead of cherishing memories all some want is possessions. I hope you are coping and you have some support at this difficult time.

@autisticwonder1970 I have only recently started coming back on the forum and I really enjoy reading your posts. It's great that your friends are able to visit and support you. Try not to let what others say worry you, although I know its easier said than done sometimes.

Good Morning, @Diamum9752. Thank you for understanding with great compassion the complexity of the management of my type 2 diabetes mellitus pertaining to my complicated character and personality dynamics manifest in my autistic spectrum disability. I already have gone back to the artificial sweetener tablets and have been drinking several glasses of tap water to lower the glycaemia. My blood glucose level at 9:52 am was 6.8 Millimoles Per Litre. I do struggle with adequate management of my diabetes due to my autistic spectrum disability and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder but the support on this Forum has been insurmountable and I'm really learning a lot, the low carb programme (I'm not participating very well with that, either), regular blood glucose checking, glucose syrup in my Coffeemate, eating little but often, but I believe everyone struggles and the solidarity on this Forum, and the love, is intrinisically touching and overwhelming. Have a lovely day, @Diamum5972 from @autisticwonder1970 (Johnny Baker). x X x.
Thank you Johnny, my son also has Aspergers Syndrome and a few months ago he had a Diabetes test. His test was negative but I had to prepare him for the possibility of him being diabetic before his test which meant telling him about the changes he would have to make to his diet and the importance of support. I'm so glad you have a good support system and I'm sure you will settle into a comfortable routine where you're not tempted to eat something you shouldn't.

I've just realised that when I dropped carbs I replaced them with protein. Neither wonder I hadnt lost weight til now.
I need to drastically reduce my protein to more fat and less protein.
I hope this is the answer. If I don't lose weight ill just give up. I know everyone is different but I've never lost weight on lchf but maybe I was doing it wrong? Mind u bgs are down. Although insulin would do that for me.
I'm hoping the penny had dropped.
Fingers crossed ;)
Having no toddler in my face 24/7 has given me the chance to think.
Thinking always helps! Ha ha

Agree with @debrasue and @Lindy1706 ... if you start to think you are doing well it is quite easy to have a little slip. But I firmly believe yo

@ickihun a tough time, you are in my thoughts. When my father in law died it was hard seeing my partner interact with his 3 brothers. Everyone has views, people deal with grief so differently. Hope it gets easier for you.

PS don't give up @ickihun BIG HUGS x

So today I made cakes, ate some LivLife bread and other stuff I consider nice - relatively low carb I guess - and BG still only 4.6. Beginning to think exercise really is the key for me. Since I stepped up to 6/7 swims a week my numbers have been much better.

Also downloaded MySugr, input my last months numbers (yep tedious) but I'm now analysing like crazy LOL

@ickihun it can be really tricky to get the balance right. I still eat too much protein at times but dont give up its worth persevering to try and get it right. Im glad you're getting a bit of peace and quiet now, I know what its like to have a midget permanently attached :)
