Type 2 Life

If you ever suffer indegestion/acid reflux it should be the only version they offer. I was originally prescribed omeprazole because Dr hadnt though I might be diabetic, so she boxed herself into a corner

Ive suffered with acid reflux for about 20 years, had galdbladder removed, took omerpraxerole for years but about 7 yrs ago refused, to take omerprazerol again, was told raperazole better, I take raperazole each day, reflux started up again few weeks ago told doctor? Nothing. I had non-alcohol fatty liver for years they tested everythink even cancer could find reason why, seeing doctor in few days see if he'll let me try SR. Thanks

Thanks Ive asked for the SR before but been refused, think it's cos of cost, pharmacist suggested SR as I get higher bgs in mornings, I have to eat about every 4 hrs if not go hypo, ordinary metforfim gives me bad stomache problems, I weight 58 kilos at moment, usualy stay approx 1 kilo above or below that so I don't count calories, & I'm not exactly active cos of leg dissability, thought maybe SR might be better, will ask & see what they say. Thanks ever so. Have good day
how can you be hypo when diabetic 2 ... hypo is under 3mmol .... are you under 3 mmol every 4 hour ? type 2 are only hypo it they take insuline , are you on insuline too ?

@Freema Hello! I am type 2 for 10 yrs and am diet controlled, no meds. I had a hypo last summer when I had been on a 1.5 hrs hillwalk, my BG read 3.9 when I got back to the lodge (15mins after the hypo) so you don't have to be under 3 or insulin controlled to have a hypo

I refused insulin & use oral meds, everyone is different, 2 of my sisters are diabetic but their numbers are different, once I get near 5 I go weird. Have to eat quick if not I go hypo, my numbers are very close, don't take everythink you read/hear as correct, we are all different, and NO I'm not hypo every 4 hours now, I was very often hypo till I got myself under control, & I take the wording in your txt as offenceive, are you a trained DN!

. What are you talking about! I know my body!!! You need to get some education on diabetes, don't bother replying to me. Not interested!!!!!!

sorry I didnt mean to offend you
@ freema. All diabetics can have hypos or hypers, Ive suffered both badly till I got some education & great help from everyone on this forum ( thanks everyone). As I said we are all different & affected differently, hopefully you will get as much help & kindness as I have from everyone on this forum

thank you Maureen thanks for answering <3

Been offline due to a busy London Design Festival this week - still find attending events hard when you have to provide dietary requirements! Also, annoyingly run out of testing strips. More due tomorrow so I'm hoping my best efforts and exercise recently will see good results :) Hope everyone is well, trying to catch up on all the threads!

Hi @13lizanne could you describe how you felt going so low, so low that is for me. I've been under 4 on a few occasions, 3.4 was my lowest, often later afternoon when I get in from work and am surprised as I don't actually feel any different.
Wish you good.
Hj

T2 non meds with and Hb of 6.1
However, was Hb 5.7
I eat virtually nothing - not low carb - low food, here!! - yet my BG is too high
6.3 - 8.4 random and Fasting and PP...there are no noticeable causes of a spike from 6 - 8.

Thoughts?

@hankjam Hi this is Maureen 5762 not 13lizanne, I've had hypos at 3.4 & 3.9, really knocked me about, shaking, visual problems, stuttering couldn't get words out of my mouth, shaking, couldn't crasp anythink with hands & un steady on my feet, took 2/3 hours to get back to normal but we are all different, sure 13luzanne will reply to you soon. Take care,

Liver is thinking you might be needing some glu?
You may have some fat reserves to use up?
How controlled is your "low food"?

maybe your liver is very generous ... when I have hardly eaten anything and done a lot of training somtimes my blood glucose is anyhow very high... so maybe my liver thinks I need a lot of glucose when not eating... just like high morning numbers while actually fasting... very common among diabetic2´s , but someone in this forum experimented with different kinds of foods to stop that morning blood glucoce rising, and one kind of foods that worked was like 4 almonds.... or other high fat nuts or a chease-stick before getting out of bed... so maybe you in that way can tell your liver ...."hey I am not in stavation, I do get foods so please stop rising my sugars "

I have lived 7 month in a glucose drop when very ill and not able to keep foods in me, so maybe my liver is wrongly programmed

Yes that's right @Freema .
Some can have false hypos at 10mml/l even. Common when that person has been running in the 20s for a while. (Many undiagnosed diabetic type 2s too.)
Your dn can give you levels which you personal need to aim for but ultimately your body wll tell you if your sugar is running low. Unless like me and some others you can lose your hypo awareness. Mine is due to a tablet called bisoprolol for blood pressure ( a beta blocker, I believe). So mine should only be temporary but some lose it forever.
