Morning Folks
Had a nice 4.0 before tea yesterday but then went out t our local Indian Restaurant.
I am pretty careful, limit myself to no more than half of 1 chapati and went for Jingha (prawn) Karai.
Ok, might have had a few lagers and a single malt too - oh and a small bit of Banoffee pie as well, but even so I was a bit surprised to see 6.2 this morning.
I'm actually blaming that more on having a cold and a bad night coughing, spluttering and sneezing....
I find my fasting levels are usually the highest of the day and took a long time to come down.
5.3 this morning, bit windy out there...
take care
I too slip on the lchf diet. I keep forgetting to eat fat. I'm finding that harder than cooking veg so I can fill up on them. Had carrots yesterday but still has good bgs. So had a treat last night. Naughty but nice. Still in 7s for fasting. Much better than 8s on verio iq meter. Now redundant it didn't do my confidence any good.Levels were down in the 6'suntil last night when they went up to the 12's but thats because I slipped
I've been sticking to a LCHF diet and it seems to be working in general. I'm self testing and apart from a few minor glitches its slowly bring my levels down well until last night that is.
I'll openly admit I ate half a tub of popping candy ice cream and despite the grief I'll fully expect to get from the girlfriend if I eat the other half with in the next month, it was worth it It. after 8 weeks or so of no sugar and only sweeteners its was glorious.
sorry but needed to just revel in the thought of the delight I experienced eating something with sugar in again.

I'm good with the butter treatment.....My Gf's found a quick and easier way to increase the fat content when eating veg (the fact that it makes yucky veg taste nice is a by product. I'm a 3 year old when it comes to veg).
She places all the veg in a big pasta pot and covers them in water and adds a teaspoon of salt and then simmers them for 20/30 minutes.
Then she drains them and places about half a pack of butter (roughly 100g) in the pot, melts the butter, dumps the veg back in the pot and stirs and serves.
She normally cooks five bags of 750 grams of veg.
As predicted. Brushed off by the not so good gp. Apparently I've injured my shoulder. Pushing the baby buggy.
Well I'm one for being fair. So I'll take his advice and use the gel and hot water bottle with stretching exercises. Alongside the ibuprofen I'm already taking. I'll give it over the weekend and then I'll go back if no better.
I'm no doctor so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Anything for an easy life.... for now.
