Back when I was younger, we used to have meals as breakfast (pretty large meal, meat, eggs, toast or pancakes, coffee, milk) , dinner (the large meal of the day with dessert or fruit), tea (around 4 o'clock, very light, just tea itself and maybe some open faced sandwich like cream cheese and cucumber or tongue and mustard, or ham salad spread) and supper (small version of dinner with dessert which could be fruit). Everything seems about the same but you are fitting in both lunch and dinner and tea? When and what?
These days, Americans have breakfast, midmorning snack, lunch (what our supper used to be), midafternoon snack, and dinner (huge)
