thanks @debrasue that seems logical I felt ok but, after I read your post, I went and made myself a crispbread with some spread cheese. I've just tested again and it's up to 5.0 now.
I think perhaps it was because I felt stiff when I woke up so I did some stretching exercises before I got up (I did lots of bending and stretching yesterday helping with some decorating so I was creaking a bit this morning).
