Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Fbg 5.4 this morning and...... more weight loss. It's falling off on the right amount of insulin. Appetite is appeased too.
So happy to lose carb and protein cravings. Fingers crossed I can keep it that way!
Brilliant efforts Vicky, very happy for you!!

Even with a "relaxed week" your body is managing well. Congratulations!!! Knowing your approach the weight will fall off again!

Maybe GP's right and you shouldn't worry (more stress and all that) You've got a lot going on.... Hugs to you

I will be testing my BG in about a hour. Is 16 grammes carbs so bad? Excuse my ignorance, I was under the impression this was a healthy breakfast.
Some aim for less than 10g per 100g. Especially for breakfast as worse time for your Insulin resistance (diabetes) to cope with carbs.
Its not a must but can help.

4.5 at wake up, after switching from Metformin to Glilcazide yesterday. Bad taste in mouth has gone, and actually enjoyed a breakfast of porridge and chopped banana.

Jeremy, why did you switch medication?

it is all depending on how servere your insuline resistance is... you can see that from how high it spikes your blood glucose and if your numbers get down to a normal level 2 hours after eating your food... like under 6.5 mmol
That's right. Only true perspective is no meds thou. With meds it distortes the facts a little. All meds have a threshold so once deducted gives the full picture of IR severity. @JeremySE18 .
I take metformin and insulin to keep my bgs good. Huge amounts of insulin. Even hospital drs are standing watch me inject as cannot believe how much I need and no coma. I am working on it behind the scenes with help of some very clever people.
I don't know anyone more insulin resistant nor the north of england specialist.
Now I'm taking enough insulin, I'm losing weight instead of adding. Of course the bgs too and fro, like everyones.
Its hard work some days, others not so bad. I enjoy posting my fbg and seeing I'm not alone.
Tomorrows fbg may be wayward as I've had a lot of pain today too from walking. It's a surprise for me every morning. Enjoy your rewards of good fbgs. They are worth celebrating, whatever the meds situation. Well done everyone!

GP is right!
Not everyone can do it @Tim55

6.1 at 5:00 am, down a bit on yesterday.

Still feeling like **** though.

It's probably your changeable weather hot one day colder the next
Easy to pickup colds and viruses hopefully just a 24-36 hour thing
And you'll be fighting fit before long

Hope your feeling better @Tipetoo ? I am, sickness gone. Cough lingering thou.
Hope same bug.
It's from the copd I have, if I lay on my back in bed I get short of breath and my heart rate goes up (AFib).
Then I feel the effects till my spo2 comes back to normal which takes several days.

My GP will sort me out later this morning when I see him.
