9.8 this morning, effects of only being on half my medication for the past week. Now have sitagliptin added to my glicazide, hopefully that will start to show results soon. Good diabetic check with the doctor and nurse yesterday. 13.9.17

8.1 this morning following 8.2 yesterday. Good numbers for me.

I'm using a different meter now but it's likely the late night dietary tweaks are responsible.

Will be ringing up for my HbA1c result tomorrow.

8.2 this morning. Not taking any medication but avoiding high carbs

I think your level is in the diabetic area now... not pre-diabetic... but maybe this is only a rare number

""
The following results indicate the presence of prediabetes:

  • Fasting plasma glucose: 6.0 mmol/L to 6.9 mmol/L
  • HbA1c: 42 to 47 mmol/mol (6.0 to 6.4%)

Thank you @Freema for the advice. I will keep a closer eye on it. Perhaps I should consult my Physician.

Hi Everyone,

I am sure you have all noticed that we have more than one Fasting Blood Glucose thread running simultaneously. And I bet you have wondered why. :) Well, at various times, the different threads have been started with different purposes (usually the amount of socialising, pictures, discussions, etc. that come alongside the fasting readings).

Normally things flow quite well, with people posting where they feel, and chatting where they feel.

However, we have recently seen an upturn in posts being reported for being ‘off topic’ - because new posters are unaware of the original thread expectations, and just jump into posting, then get chatting, unaware of the previous conventions on that particular thread. Perfectly understandable, and we (the moderation team) would like to avoid future tension caused by posts being reported.

As a result, I have changed some of the thread titles to include the amount of chat usually enjoyed on the thread. Hopefully this will allow everyone to identify their own preferred thread, and then chat comfortably.

Here is a list of available threads:

This thread was created for those who just want to state their fasting reading without the distraction of chat.

As requested in another thread.... state your fasting numbers here.

This thread was started because the OP (original poster on the thread) wanted people to feel free to insert a little chat alongside their fasting readings.

Hello mates,
At a couple of the other forums I've frequented there was a thread like this one where we all sorta checked in each day, with our first cup of coffee or tea, and reported our fasting or waking blood glucose level and some short comment about whether we're ok with it or if not - why not?...

Then, if you just want chat, rather than having to enter your fasting readings, you can find those threads here:
http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/category/general-chat.5/
including this thread, which is about everything and anything
http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/type-2-life.81469/page-620

I hope that this helps everyone to choose a thread where you can feel most at home amongst people who enjoy the same level of interaction as yourself.

My scatica too. Agony yesterday. I cried when I got home from sitting for over 2hrs listening.
All I seem to do lately. Listen. It is getting headbanging. I slept for hours then more hours and have woken tired. Too much sleep maybe.
Apparently I came over very pale in 2hr education session too. I'll never understand my body. It changes on me too much.
Luckily fbg 5.4 due to insulin support.
Sorry to hear you're struggling Vicky. Hang in there honeyxx
