Hopefully, it’s still very early days, and find my way with it all, my first HBa1c was 85, and second one ten days later was 79

16.2 - getting nowhere fast, even though I'm on 2 drugs . It's really getting me down. It's not been below 14 for 7 months now.

I don't understand these readings. What measurement system are you using? My fasting readings are about 16 and that's very high. If you're using an American device measuring mg/dl that would convert to 2.8 - 3.3 mmol which is below the recommended lower limit. I'd advise you to see your GP / DN.
