    Went to bed with a 6, woke up with an 8.9, the phenonomenon strikes. Strange when that happens!

    I'm a committed low carber ...
    Take 2 Metformin with my evening meal ...
    All other numbers are excellent and my post prandial readings are high 4's or low 5's ...
    I do intermittent fasting and interval training ..
    I take Inulin last thing which lowered my fasting reading for about 2 months but then it went up again ...
    Weight, cholesterol all fine ...
    I have no idea what else to do to bring it down ..

    Sometimes there's nothing you can do. My HbA1c is in the non diabetic range but my FBG is always high!!!

    yes I have noticed your struggle.... but maybe some type 2 just have an extremely over active liver....I think it is my main problem too though not as high as yours...

    Suppressing liver output of glucose sometimes needs less going in but more than none going in.
    Have a carb treat and see a surprising lower fbg for a few days. (Low carbers only).
    The magic of the liver!
