Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Hi, my name is Julia, I am new in this community and new with all the measurements. I have only measured 3 days, and it has been consistent in the 8, 8.3, 8.8. Before I go to bed is under 7.00. Is that normal?
Hi Julia - welcome to the forum!
I am tagging @daisy1 who will send you an excellent welcome pack of information to help you get your head around all this and make some useful suggestions as to how you can start to get those levels down a little.
I am still learning myself, but I would have thought that your after-dinner readings are not bad, although your fasting readings may be a little high (if those are fasting readings?)
Good luck with your journey, and keep sharing!
Hugs

10.9 on my Codefree after a coffee with alpro coconut milk at 6.30 this morning

Ate some veggie omelette at 8.30pm yesterday and 2 cubes of fatty cheese at 10.30 as a night cap in the hope of improving my morning reading. Going to up the stakes and chow down on 500g of butter before bed tonight....ok, not really. Maybe try bigger cubes of the yellow stuff instead :wacky:

The jury returned a 4.3 this morning.

Holiday appears to have left my system well and truly, which is a shame. Roll on next year

Hi Julia, I was diagnosed 6months ago and my readings are about the same, around 7-7.5 first thing in the morning then before bed 5.8-6.5 if its any comfort:), trying for 6's in the morning a personal goal.

Went for a hot bath right after waking up, trying to suppress the horror of morning sickness..

Now having a cuppa hot ginger tea, omelet and low carb Choco jello. Eating slowly, slower than the movement of a snail ;)

But I am determined to have a better day than yesterday, so no matter how slow, I will keep eating.

For fun, I will tell you that I have been sitting for almost 2 hours trying to finish the two eggs omelet LOL

Back to bed soon :/

If anyone has any funny movies to watch to let the day pass quicker, gimme a shout xxxx
Thanks for the lovely message@busydiabeticmum:) reading it has made me feel loved and supported. Xx

That is because you are!

I have heard baths are better than cycling in bringing down bgl! Something to do with heat shock therapy...
Walking will help better than laying down though you probably feel like laying down! The air and exercise will help.

Any who my bgl are a big fat 5.8... i didnt have a big spike after that chocolate cake yesterday (only went to 6.6 though a plain biscuit can send me to the 8s!!!) But does seem to raise my bgl overall though only slightly... back on the diet and exercise as feeling like it again so maybe its the exercise!

Wishing everyone a wonderful day as the sun is shining here and feeling optomistic today.
