Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Hi, my name is Julia, I am new in this community and new with all the measurements. I have only measured 3 days, and it has been consistent in the 8, 8.3, 8.8. Before I go to bed is under 7.00. Is that normal?
Hi @juliagc and welcome to the forum. A lot of people get higher bg levels first thing in the morning. It's usually due to the 'Dawn Phenomenon' or liver dump. Your liver dumps stored glucose into your blood stream as you wake to give you an energy boost as you are getting going. It is normal and non-diabetics get it too.

Mine is 4.4 this morning. Normal for me has been high 8.8-10 over last year. Combination of increased meds and lower carbs finally working.

After 3 pints beer and 2 packs of peanuts:angelic: a pleasantly surprising 6.3 this fine morning, I stand more chance of predicting the price of a Ryanair flight than FBG's
