The hardest part is trying to get 90% fat from 1000 cals in 5 sittings. Dana carpender has a recipe book on amazon. Tried the sample but didn't buy. Just took a couple of ideas from the Internet. There's been very little washing up this week!Thank you... If it's only three days I can do that!!![]()
I think when ever i have continued to fast after getting up my BG's have been lowered than my waking fasting test, never since a rise....

You don't have an axe do you?
Best of luck for Sunday. All your hard work in the past will see you breeze it.5.1 which continues the recent trend of readings in the low 5's. Can put it down to 2 things - Main thing is no exercise. A period of being down with flu for 2 weeks meant I ran 0 miles in April. Secondly, more grazing, especially with not having regular lunches and compensating by grazing more on things like cashew nuts.
Running the Birmingham 10K on Sunday so that will be interesting with that kind of preparation. Better get out today and see how it feels to start running again.
Hi @vit90So I tested half an hour after getting up and making breakfast and lunches for the family (but not me!) and it was 6.3. Two hours later and only a glass of water... 6.6That said, this was just after my shower - I have read that a shower raises BG levels.
Had a very active day yesterday - a solid 2 hours of fast walking covering 7 miles (my phone app still over-estimates my distance so am using Google Maps walking distances) and I also amassed 16,000 steps for the day (and those were only the ones counted by the app; I don't carry the phone with me all the time). If anyone is interested I am using the free Microsoft Health & Fitness app on my Windows Phone, (Lumia 930) and the step counting should be accurate as it uses the Windows Phone Sensorcore API. It gets the distance wrong because the default stride figure for my height doesn't match my actual stride correctly (I have short legs I think!).
Main thing is you are consistent with your own readings for the sake of daily comparison. . By all means add the time after rising to your figures. Generally doesn't seem to make much difference to me but still stick to testing at same time in my routine .Sorry to return to this question again but should we expect a different result testing first thing after waking up in the morning compared to a fasting test a few hours after getting up? I could be wrong but the evidence seems to suggest yes because of the so-called dawn effect or 'liver dump' which affects some people. So in this thread are we looking for figures illustrating the dawn effect or our 'baseline' blood glucose levels after an 8-10 hour fast (therefore not soon after waking)? I generally test half an hour to an hour after getting out of bed for this thread, but not exclusively.
