Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

6.9 this morning - was hoping for an improvement on yesterday's 6.8 but at least it's not back in the 7s. Didn't sleep too well but on the fitness side am pleased as cycled 9 miles yesterday and also managed a couple of miles walking.

Great numbers Do you think you have much more weight to lose? The 8 week duration is not mandatory; it depends on your personal weight and body fat profile - Richard Doughty of newspaper article fame only needed to do it for a couple of weeks as he wasn't overweight to start with.

Good morning all. I had a 6.3 fasting BG this morning after a 5.3 bedtime one.

7.5 and no idea why! No Jersey Royals to blame.

12 hours sleep might agree with me but certainly doesn't agree with my BG

Too much sleep has been identified as being almost as bad as not enough sleep. For me 7-8 hours is just right. I feel rubbish for the rest of the day if I sleep in.

4.7 this early morning chest has been rough again over night. Feel really shakey and dizzy with sugar levels in the 4s so breakie then try to have some more sleep

I note that some people feel unwell with a BG level of under 5, but that's supposed to be the normal level. What's the general opinion here? Is it just an adaptation thing - persevere and the body adapts to being consistently under 5 or something else?

5.3 for me this morning. Happy with that.

I also feel a bit shakey much below 5, but when I first started to try and get my levels down I felt a bit shakey most of the time. I think your body gets used to operating at around a certain level and does take some time to adjust to a lower one.

Just my opinion, based on my experience.

Been to Diabetic clinic this morning she tells me all is well Iron levels are up and my HB is 57 but would like it a little lower maybe 55 ....so keep up the good work
