74 mg/dl or 4.11 mmoles/l

@ Baruney

Re D+ G Diet yes, but genes not great.

Gin + Tonic absolutely no booze, gave it up because I loved it a bit too much

Exercise yes, six days a week on tread mill 6Km/day. So that like I said, no secrets, just controlled daily routine.
And extreme consistency. You are extremely dedicated. I'm on the iPad today so saw your signature about exercise. It doesn't come up on the phone which I usually use. Cheers.

Morning all

6.9 for me this morning , much higher than usual ..... I put it down to the yummy but a bit naughty chicken kebab I had for dinner last night (minus pitta) ..... was worth it :oops:;)
Did you have sauce? Only asking as otherwise it's good quality chicken and yummy salad. Our local kebab king is Turkish and runs an excellent grill. I'll add my own sauce including a bit of dave's insanity if I want to go for the burn!

A double dose of good news this morning - I have lost another pound so down to 11st 8.5lbs or 73.8kg (BMI now exactly 23) and my morning test was an incredible 2.1 mmol lower than yesterday at 5.4. The two possible explanations for such a big improvement in test reading are a) started a new batch of strips today, but they have the same batch number as the previous ones, b) started drinking cinnamon tea again for the first time in several weeks.

Got my six-monthly review with the DN this morning and she will be doing a finger prick random (no fasting) test so the improved BG this morning has come just in time! Should also find out my latest HbA1c.
Good luck with the review keep us posted.

Yep ...lots of sauce for me and it was a very large kebab , used to eating smaller portions now ;)

5.2 fasting
I normally don't retest but yesterday I tested in afternoon and I came at 5.9 which was without food, then tested again and 4.7. I was sure I should be in 4's but that figure of very close to 6 very nearly killed me with shock.

Hola

Ok - coming to the conclusion that I damaged my glucorx when I dropped it on the hard kitchen floor. Not conclusive yet but fasting reading was 7.2 whilst it was 6.1 on the neo. Now the last time I compared them the neo gave the higher readings by about .5 on several different occasions.

I know that there will always be different readings between meters but am thinking of getting a new one as the dn implied that our surgery will not be supplying test strips in the very near future.

What are you using? I have 2 boxes of glucorx strips from eBay stashed away and get the neo strips from an Aussie "dealer" but there does seem a strong voice for the code free due to the cost of the strips. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Or to cut a long story short. 6.1 fasting. 0.9 blood ketones.

HbA1c of 33 :) She was pleased with everything :D

Had another blood take and will get a full spectrum analysis inc. HbA1c again, cholesterol, liver function and glucose.

5.7 this morning. Got home at 03:00 tired and hungry ate something light, then slept.
I couldn't help it, paid the price with higher fasting reading.
