5.3 this morning. A little higher, but:

No exercise last evening

Changed back to ordinary metformin from sr version. I take one 500mg per day with evening meal. Nurse suggested reverting to original as a stepping stone to ending the met completely.

Now I'm back at work I'm testing a couple of hours earlier.

We shall see...

4.6 No exercise! Supper one crispbread with peanut butter and a babybelle!

Gobsmacked. 5.4 this morning. Lowest ever

. Last night's meal was half an hour later than normal at 7-30, a roast chicken dinner with 3 roast spuds, carrots, peas, cauliflower, gravy, glass of red wine. Went to bed on 6.0. Over the moon.

5.5 today :) following 6.5 yesterday :(. Given up trying to fathom it out, think I'll just go with the flow

10.6, then tested other hand 5.6! Maybe didn't rinse hands properly!

Wow! Gravy? Spuds? Carrots? Can I ask what was your 2hr post meal reading?

I didn't test that meal because I have tested it several times before to get the portions right. Last Sunday I had exactly the same but with lamb instead of chicken. The peak was 6.8 at 1 hour, at 2 hours 7.1 and still 7.1 at 3 hours but down again to 6 after that. So a hump back bridge rather than a mountain peak. :)

Within a reasonable limit then. I have been scared to eat potatoes mostly, but last night I had a roast chicken leg (didn't eat skin), one medium sized roast potato, cauliflower, broccoli and gravy. After two hours my BG went down by 0.3. I will try that again and if it's the case again I can afford to have a roast spud now and again..yummy.

Sometimes I feel like I am going round in circles to be honest. A gravy dinner with a spud reduces my BG and yet a homemade veg curry with only spices and above ground veg with NO rice, can elevate my sugar. Given that our meters can fib slightly on top, it's going to be a long time before I have got a really clear picture of it all I reckon.

3.8 for me today.

I've had a couple of days of mainly 3s, which isn't a problem, I felt fine, but maybe getting a bit too low, too regularly. That said, yesterday was a bit odd food wise, and when I do my food diary, I have a feeling I won't have eaten enough.

Always a work in progress.

Edit: I've just updated myfitnesspal, and I had "spare" calories, but not as many as I might have guessed. The heavy duty breakfast helped me out there. :)

Ok ta. I snapped out of my bad mood and decided to shake up the diet more towards very very low carb. It seems to be working.

As for leg and cold, I'm plodding on!

Thanks for asking xxx

Just be careful. I went low low carb and made myself ill. I probably wasn't eating enough fat, but I lost all my energy and felt dreadful. I've introduced breakfast cereals back in to my diet. The high fibre ones. It saves me wondering what to have for breakfast and it's giving me the fibre I Know my body needs. I don't eat many vegetables, I live on my own and can't be bothered. After introducing them back, I'm still seeing good results with my FBS, they are still on the way down, so, coupled with nuts or peanut butter just before bed, or in the middle of the night, I feel happier that I'm managing it better. xx

I'm gonna give it a month and see how it goes. I've had plenty of fat too - seems wrong but quite enjoyable and making salad more bearable!

Right off to make some bacon and eggs :)

sorry Deb, asking if you'd "been". I thought you'd posted that you were a bit bunged up, and all I can find is that your leg hurts when you sneeze! Sorry. xx
