Hi,Within a reasonable limit then. I have been scared to eat potatoes mostly, but last night I had a roast chicken leg (didn't eat skin), one medium sized roast potato, cauliflower, broccoli and gravy. After two hours my BG went down by 0.3. I will try that again and if it's the case again I can afford to have a roast spud now and again..yummy.

I don't know how legit this is or if it helps anyone, especially the prediabetics, but a doctor up at the hospital told me that he is never concerned about a FBG between 4-6. He said something out of that range would alert him to there being a potential problem.

On my blood results print outs, alongside the thing they are testing, it says what the normal band is. For fasting glucose it says 3 to 6.
