3.4 this morning! Repeated 10 mins later with the same result.

Woke with a bit of a hangover after reunion party last night and had a few drinks late after we got home.

I already know that I'm not very hypo-aware, since I've dipped almost this low (3.6) once or twice before (generally after a late drink) and not noticed anything amiss.

Apart from the mild hangover (and I remembered to drink a couple of pints of water before bed, so it was mild) I felt nothing at all unusual. Clear-headed, no shakes, just a minor headache and a bit thirsty.

This doesn't bode well if I should ever deteriorate to the point that I need insulin or other potentially hypo-inducing drugs, I guess.

I was drinking an odd blue cocktail - maybe my friend Andy has inadvertently discovered a cocktail that magically brings down fasting glucose....

I am *not*, of course, suggesting cocktail experimentation as a means of controlling fasting blood glucose, though I do find that the often-cited advice of a glass of red wine seems to work for me.

5.3 at 08:00 today. I was at my cousins' house last night and ate a portion of shepherd's pie :!: so I don't know how to account for that.

Mind you, I am now on a short course of steroids and more antibiotics, as well as Metformin, BP pill, thyroid pill, anti-inflammatories and opiods, and my stenosis has flared up again, with the effect of permanently cramping a muscle in my right thigh, so almost anything could be affecting my blood glucose levels :shock: . I'm walking like Quasimodo :crazy:

You may not believe this, but I consider myself to be in general a very healthy person! I'm hardly ever ill - just my body appears to be falling apart around me! :lol:

The GP (the same one who prescribed me an Irish Wolfhound :lol: ) also sent me for a chest X-ray. I'm thinking of asking for a designated parking space at the hospital . . . :roll:

Never mind, onwards and upwards. With any luck it'll all be sorted by Christmas

Finally got it under 6 this morning (5.9 to be exact)

Did 30 mins on wii fit before bed then wondered if exercise would bring down BG levels overnight and cause liver dump in the morning so decided to have 2 crackers with cheese. It worked!!

I am going to experiment with cocktails tonight-only kidding :lol:

Should have tried cocktails last night :!:

Back up to 6.3 this morning. Did exact same routine last night as the previous night. :crazy:

mines all over the place at the mo,tried it at 10.30 this morn and it 13.4, walked down to the drs for my 6 month check up and the nurse did it and it was 9.1 3/4 hour later

Usually between 3 and 5. This morning was 3.3. Please don't anyone say this is too low. I have functioned at 2.9 before now. My specialist says as long as I still have hypo awareness - which I most certainly do - I'm fine.

6.8 this morning-on the up :thumbdown:

Didn't do wii fit last night (pulled muscle night before) or have carb snack before bed. Back to routine tonight.

(Did jackknife exercise on wii fit the night before to work stomach muscles-ended up pulling muscle in chest area. Obviously not doing it right )

5.0 at 08:30 today.

I'm eating more carbs than usual at the moment - somehow it's not salad weather! - so I'm pleased that my BG is not drifting upwards. Unfortunately my brother's visit put 3lbs on me, but I've decided not to worry about that for the moment. Besides, I'm off to see if I can get almond and coconut flour locally to try WhitbyJet's recipes. I have to give them a practice run before Christmas!

6.2 at 9am today.

Don't know if getting up later than normal makes any difference.

mine was 9.9 this morning @9.30
had 1 big bacon buttie for breakfast at half 10 and just tried level and it was 7.7 @1.36pm

I think my liver dumped on me this morning because I overslept.

6.2 fasting.

5.3 two hours post-breakfast after a dog walk and some exercises on the Wii

dratted dawn phenomenon
9.1 at 8.15 am it was lower when I went to bed.
Still striving to achieve a consistently lower fasting rate....

Mmmm not sure what's happening. Cutting back and dieting meant my fasting levels were acceptable a few weeks ago but they are gradually creeping up again. This morning it was 8.0. Perhaps coincidentally last night in bed I had twitching legs which kept me awake.

I was 5.4, then 4.9 two hours post-breakfast after a lovely walk. The sunrise was lovely here this morning.

6.7 this morning at 9am.

My own fault-no exercise except housework, a couple of bacardis last night (thought they might bring BG levels down :wink: ) and half bag nuts before bed.

mine was 9.2 this morning, did have 3 pieces of terrys choc orange b4 bed though
