I've only been diagnosed about a month, so I'm still getting the hang of the meter, so this is the first fasting one I ha e taken. I was on 7.2 this morning, last night was a rare naughty takeaway night, so tho I did have a veggie and proper chicken with lots of salad kebeb I did have half of the white pitta, and a large handfull of fries. I will be interested to see how it is another day after a more usual dinner.

Thought it'd be up this morning as I have sore throat and a bit of a cold.

Pleasantly surprised when it was 5.9 (and I thought I'd had a bad yesterday :!: )

6.50 am = 6.8 (which is good for me)

Before eating breakfast at 8.40 it had risen to 8.6 +2 back down to 7.3

Hope this phenomenon will be less phenomenol when I have reached my desired weight.....

Mine was 5.8 this morning the doctor prescribed metformin now i have been taking them for 4 weeks and it seems to be levelling things for me although I think it sometimes makes me go a wee bit low, the other day I had a sweat attack and felt a bit shaky but once I had lunch I was fine.

5.5 at 07:30 today

Grabbed a white roll with ham & egg for lunch. 9.9 two hours after - highest I've had for ages. White bread is definitely still a no-no!

I know, Grazer! I was late into Tesco after spending about 3 hours getting lost in our local hospital, and there was nothing else I fancied! It would have been better with mayonnaise. Like you, I really prefer wholemeal/wholegrain.

5.7 This morning after a cooked breakfast 2 hours was 6.1

5.4 yesterday and 5.7 today.

Finally managed to get it under 6 althought it's probably due to sore throat and not being able to eat much. I had expected it to rise due to infection.

:thumbup: I am a newbie diagnosed first week of November.

I only have been testing since Wednesday, yesterday fasting 5.9, this morning 6.6, but had a three course meal last night [anniversary] but was careful with the menu, I tested 1.5 hours later [11pm] and I was 6.2!

This morning 6.6

5.3 at 09:00, after a very bad night listening to things roll around outside in this awful wind! It will be an early bed for me tonight - if I don't have an afternoon nap! Feeling my age a bit, perhaps? :lol:

5.8 I'm all about the 5's in the last 24 hours. Looks like a glass of wine and a double sailor jerrys with diet coke + dancing to punk mariatchi bands is the work if a winner. Gooooo fun!

6.2 at 09:00 today.

I had a dispute with a tin of mini Cheddars last night. I won! 8) That accounts for the BG in the 6s this morning. Serves me right!

Must be this throat infection causing it to increase (or maybe it's the packet of maltesers I had during the night when I couldn't sleep :lol: )

Don't know if I should really confess this but 8.8 this morning, my highest fasting reading since diagnosis, including being on a cruise on holiday.

Combination of an unlimited supply of birthday goodies, celebratory meal with old friends completed by eating a pile of Lindt chocolates, a full bottle of wine followed by two bags of crisps and two bottles of cider.

After labouriously counting my sins, I've worked out that this extended dinner was 3045 calories and 245 carbs!

Walking around today with hang dog expression and tail firmly between legs and much muttering about 3 month averages and such.

Just this minute taken my after lunch reading (maybe a bit over the two hour mark) and back to an excellent (for me) 6.4.
