7.1, 6.9, 7.2 - those are the last 3 days . I'm really missing that insulin

mine was 12.00 this morning...ok.. i can hear everyone gasping but i am quite happy as the last three days it has been

14.5 - 14.2 - 12

could it be that the low carbing has started having effect? is there hope i can get it down??

6.5 today, still ok, but I prefer it a little lower.

Mine was 86 (US System). I take about 30-34 units of levemir each night and try to drink about 1/2 to 1 quart (litre) of water at bed time.

Lots of water makes a big difference. Try drinking 4-6+ quarts (litres) per day and see how your blood sugars tend to come down.

Drinking that much water can harm your kidneys, and flush all the potassium out of your body too.

Too much of anything is bad.

today it was 11.1 so definitely going the right direction!!

maybe the huge mug of decaf coffee before sleeping helped.....

mine was 5.2 this morn, and that was after a bag of wine gums last night ,
took the car to main dealer this morn and had to walk 5 miles home so just tried it and 6.4 :crazy:
thing is ive gotta walk back after to pick it up :lol:
at least the excercise do me good on my day off

4.4 this morning, but usually 4.6/4.7.

Only using 2 x 500mg Metformin per dayHbA1c in the 5s consistently 10years on. Now aiming for the 4s

I've stopped for that same reason-I can't get mine below 17.

Maybe we should start another thread for those with fastings over 10
We cant give up paulie....mine have improved slightly over the last few days since doing proper low carbing, but up till last week i was seeing 16's

after reading the last few posts, don't know whether I should list my FBG but it was 4.8 this morning.

I feel a bit of a fraud posting on this thread now, because I'm jabbing insulin when I go to bed, so have been waking at mid-4's.

Mine this morning after nearly 12 hours of fasting was 15.7 - TOO HIGH !!

Dear Glyn,

Why post this reading - are you asking for help as I see you have only recently joined us? When I was first diagnosed I was averaging 12 during the morning after breakfast now I am always c. 6.0 after every fast. You look to be a senior citizen so I implore you to get advice and sort out your diet because I dread to think just how high your readings are as you put your head on your pillow - my guess well over 20 which is an early reservation for the 'knackers yard'. I say this because IT IS possible to adjust to a new lifestyle. With best wishes, Rob

i'm on meds and 44units of lantos before bed. when i was only taking 30units my morning bg was between 7 and 9. i was eating snacks before bed , usually 12 to 1 am. when i started reducing snacks, my bg levels in the morning continued to increase. ( my hba1c was 7.5 last week, and the dr. said it was acceptable but i should increase my insulin units.) now i am at 44units and i have had morning readings of 9.7 to 16.4 !! i have the impression that when i eat snacks before bedtime, my morning bg levels are lower. when i told my dr. he didn't say anything.
anybody have similar experiences? what to do?

My BG this morning is 6.8 mmol/l. Bedtime reading last night was 4.3. This Dawn Phenomenon stuff is no fun!!

4.8 this morning and 5.3 two-hours after breakfast.
