alliebee, no idea why it was so high, after my tea, i didn,t have anything else to eat
so what your saying is to keep the carbohydrates somewhere between 50 and 100. Mine have been between 100 & 200....ooops!5g of carbohydrates per 100g is the target. Not always achievable in fact it's hard to do. Always read the label and keep as low as you can.. some on here only have 50g carbohydrate a day. I aim for around 100ish but not anal about it. Depends on my meter reading before I eat.
Hello Bluetit- even though you may not get back on for a day or so!! Lovely to see you though, must be awful when you can't choose what you would normally, hopefully you came down ok later?
I agree with Douglas not all low fat is full of sugar just read the labels maybe the manufacturers are getting the message at last that low fat does not mean they have to put high sugar in itI wouldn't agree with that, I buy low fat versions of most things, very few have sugar in them.
Possibly several years ago, a few headline brands did, but now most versions are similar.
Always read the label though, the one you don't will be the one that is full of sugar.
what was it later? Chips and bread is a fair whammy. And as a one off I'd just go with it. Hope you are enjoying break as weather has been rubbish.
Hope you feel better now, Ham eggs and chips is.....and chips are definately my guilty pleasure.... one of my favorite meals so I do indulge sometimes Luckily they do not upset me but if I do have them it is usually when I eat out so I don't test after and it is way past the two hours when I get home so to late then so I just enjoy them without feeling guiltyThank youYes I was 4.7 before tea so all was well in the end, 5.0 at bedtime followed by a rough night with tummy ache and diaorrhea, 5.7 at 2am and 5.8 this morning. The lunch clearly didn't agree with me! Better now, and bs could have been worse this morning considering
Bloods at 11am 11.4This morning 9.3 lowest ive had for a week, breakfast will be at 9am and will test again at 11am
4.7 before tea. Weather could be better but not horrendous. We aren,t far from you, staying at Tewitfield Marina near Carnforth.
@kimbo1962 I will do some before and after readings, but I would guess that these will not be changed by losing a pint! Then I will see if my fasting is any different to usual tomorrow morning.Let me know what happens post-donation please Maxwell, I am at books donors on Tuesday for first time since diagnosis so am curious what it does to our levels! Think I will be taking my own "snack" though and not partake in their "tea and biscuits" !!

I have never bothered with the tea and biscuits anyway so no change there. It should be my 42nd donation.

I'm really proud of you. 42nd donation eh. I tried to give blood but was told that they already had enough alcohol. No seriously I had yellow jaundice when I was young so thrown out.@kimbo1962 I will do some before and after readings, but I would guess that these will not be changed by losing a pint! It's really what works for you. Eat to your meter. Decide your target and adjust your diet to keep within those readings. This is what most of us do but it's up to you.so what your saying is to keep the carbohydrates somewhere between 50 and 100. Mine have been between 100 & 200....ooops!
Well i have to lose weight as well as keeping my blood sugar down......wasnt told anything by the diet nurse only to eat sensibly. it went up to 9.7 last night, felt bad, my fault as i ate what i shouldnt have........totaled 120 carbs yesterday. So i guess it was too much. Will do better today. It's really what works for you. Eat to your meter. Decide your target and adjust your diet to keep within those readings.
