But then I went to my friends funeral and it was all typical buffet food. Did my best..

To be honest, after the day you had yesterday, I'd be inclined to shrug my shoulders and move on. That reading, in isolation, in my view, can't be considered representative. Sadly, you will have been quite sad, probably a bit stressy and eating a less controlled diet, probably at sub-optimal times for you. In paying your respects an isolated 10.1 doesn't seem an incredibly high price to pay. It's just so very sad you had to do it in the first place.

I hate funerals.

I had a nice stable 4.0 for me this morning. I’m happy with that, after a delicious roast dinner last night, including roast potato, roast parsnip and (shop bought) cauliflower cheese. Mr B is an excellent cook. :)

Yesterday afternoon, we had reason to visit our nearest M&S out of town mega store, with Mr B needing to stock up on some “stuff”. I have to say it was chaotic. I thought, surely on a Thursday afternoon, around school closing time we’d have a window of sanity in terms of shoppers. Not so. But, as a result, we shopped for Mr Bs requirements and cleared certain parts of the food hall on what felt like milliseconds. I didn’t believe it was possible to do that.

Did I mention, Mr B isn’t a great fan of shopping, in crowds? You'd never have guessed, would you?

Have a great day everyone. The weekend is almost here! :D:D:D

@ Pavlos it's raining here has been all night looks like our pool is about to overflow ! Hope it's not on the way to you , have a great weekend everyone View attachment 8173
Your garden and pool look great.
We never got round to building a pool ourselves as when we were moving into the house my son was just a toddler and we did not want the extra hazard that a pool would represent. To built one now would be to deprive him of his football pitch so we are postponing it to a later date. Water does add an extra element to any garden though.

We have a small Lilly pond in the garden but only Shelba our black lab is stupid enough to swim in that.

They are forecasting rain for the weekend by the way

You are so right about the pool when your son was a toddler , our granddaughter fell in ours whilst playing with our dogs when she was 2. Luckily my daughter was standing close by and jumped in fully clothed and pulled her out !
She's 5 now and swims but still not allowed by the pool without a grown up!
PS still raining !

Fasting 6.post 6, guess I can tolerate that one piece of bread this morning.

It's that wet in York, Even my car went "quack " this morning:-)

5.5 this morning.
Have been in the high 6's the past couple of weeks.
making sure that I eat no later than 6pm, seems to be working.

Thank you. So much. Feel a bit better now

Hope you're feeling better :)
Hi Mike,
Apart from feeling tired, I'm fine. Have a friend up from Tassie and we went out to the Japanese BBQ place last night for dinner. I ate soooo much marbled beef and pork belly, but did not have any carbs. Woke up this morning and had to drive her to St Lucia because she is going to Obama's address. Thought the traffic would be horrendous so had to eat quickly, had porridge, I reckon my 2 hour post reading will be horrendous.
MsV :)

With 2 rotis and 1 idly along with channa dal at dinner last night, Its 4.1 this morning.

Called my doctor early and got the metformin 500 dosage in night to be reduced to Metformin 250 now. Its been quite some time since i breached 5.5 in fasting reading as most of them are sub 4.5 now

So its going to be Metformin 500 after breakfast + Metforming 250 after dinner

Mine is 5.94,should I be worried about it?
Your count is at the top of the non diabetic range.

Are you a diabetic?

Losing some weight, exercising a bit more, and changing your diet to include less carbs particularly processed refined carbs such as sugar, white bread, rice, pasta should help bring it down further,

More green vegetables is always a good option ( the kind that grow above ground not potatoes)

Regards

5,2 this Saturday morning.

I am beginning to think of a number in the low fives as my normal fasting count these days.

I have a morning tennis lesson to get ready for now

Great weekend everybody.
