5.4 after my brekky too :). Yours is excellent after baked beans and bread :D
Thanks very much. The hi-lo bread is only 5 grams and it sO tasty. You looking good today too and the sun is shining AGAIN

:) I do thicken the gravy with corn flour but barely a teaspoon for three people and there was plenty left over. The rest of the gravy is pretty much carb-free. The roast dinner was meant to be a test; definitely still more work to do.

Vit90 - I would urge you to pay less attention to the actual number and more to the trends your readings/numbers show. Yes, I know we all like nice low numbers, but being happy with an increasing bunch of 5s or 6s (purely as an example isn't going to be doing ourselves any favours.

After a short while, you will be able to reconcile yourself that your numbers are heading in the right direction/stable or needing further attention. I have mental ranges for fasting and all my meal, and to be honest, provided a reading is within that range, I don't retest. I lived for a period of month with a limited supply of strips (I was abroad with no access to topping up supplies), so had to steel myself to strictly managing my testing regime and retests, and to be honest, I think it did me a favour.

A steady 4.2 for me this morning.

Yesterday was a heavy and busy day, with a mixture of business and family matters to be taken care of, and a couple of hundred miles driven. It was great to catch up with the cousins. We’re not a big family, and it’s not too often we all manage to be in the same place at the same time.

Play nicely everyone.

Thought they were one of the "good guys"

They (blackberries) are but it's all relative. A 160g bowlful of about 30 contains, according to Carbs & Cals, about 8g carbs.

First time have done fasting test as only just got meter set up and this morning was 6.4. Before breakfast. And as have been out for morning did not have chance to test again two hours after. Must do tomorrow.

Good start :-) and welcome. Once you get to know how a particular breakfast affects you you won't need to do the 2hrs test on it anyway.

Welcome. Not to shabby for a fasting test. Have fun.

You've lost me there, I'm afraid.

I assume you are referring to not being happy with an increasing number of 5s and 6s from the point of view of your own usually lower personal readings.

Personally, I would be delighted with consistent 5s and 6s, provided the latter were post prandial.:-)

I agree about concentrating on trends rather than single readings.

Missed the fasting test, but a lazy morning since getting up, and the forces of darkness (my kids) decided they wanted sausages on bread, so I had to join in with a couple of slices of burgen.

But a nice 4.8 later, despite sitting down most of the morning with the one who is actually out of bed yet, (yes, it is nearly 12:30 here) so I've barely moved, let alone exercised.

Gave in to TWO slices of the granary seeded sensations toasted wth red Leicester and tomato - will report back on how naughty it really was. still hungry.....

I meant whatever number @vit90 is railing against. The numbers, again, were just examples. My message, which I clearly didn't convey too well, is to be concerned with personal trends, and after a while, proven, personal ranges.

8.7 this morning. I had an unusually large amount of blackberries yesterday evening!
I wish there was a dont like button as a way of making a slightly different statement. So don't like your 8.7 but like the blackberries
