Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

I seem to have lost the plot a bit recently...

I'm regularly testing again (morning and evenings) between 12-17...

Think I need to look at my diet again - maybe I got too complacent...

I didn`t take mine. I am dog sitting my daughters two dogs and a litter of three puppies. Plus I am babysitting two of my grand children. I would reckon, if stress makes it go up, mine would be 4723462372823.7432677427

If you're anything like me with grandchildren and dogs you love it really but we'll all give you the day off just this once :)

we can still post Clay
After my Rock bottom episode the other night I've realised how important diversity is on here and how we're all different and need different approaches to achieve the BG control we want....I'll go first...Mine was 19.8 this morning

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

I broke the 7 barrier today with a 6.9 which is down from 8.4 in two months since being diagnosed. Hope to get it to the levels that are acceptable all round so that I dont need to medicate yet.

4.8 this morning, which is great. But I risked getting on the scales as well - 5lbs on in 3 weeks :( That's what bread and wine does for me!

Still, I keep telling myself that I'm eating for BG levels, not weight loss - and though those have been a bit elevated, they've come back on target pretty quickly, so not too bad really.

Well done Jak sounds like you're doing well.

Mine was 5.2 today so the run of 4's has ended. Would have been pleased with 5.2 a week ago!

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

I only test my fasting BG every other day and it was 19.8 yesterday
Never been that high and only been testing since 28th March.
I do a fasting BG one day and the next before meals and 2 hours after the meal, and im on Glimepiride 1mg.

Hello
Ranges from 7.7 (lowest) to 11.8 (higest to date) apart from Yesterday's reading :o
Today its the meal BG's I have to take and next Tuesday My Diabetic Nurse will ring me for the last 2 weeks BG's, she said will probably be upping my Glimepiride.
Thing is i'd only had soup and roll for my Tea the Night before and a hot milky drink b4 bed

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

Hi Linda

Well if the rest of your days readings are doing ok and it turns into a one off thing I wouldn't be worried. It could have been caused by any number of things, not enough blood in the sample, dodgy strip, something on your finger. You can get really high readings if you are coming down with something but you'd expect more than one to be high.

I have real problems extracting enough blood for that first out of bed reading have no idea why.

No sugar in that hot milky drink I hope! Do a cup of Cadburys Highlights myself most nights doesn't touch my BG's at all.

Take care. If you keep seeing things really high I'd talk to your nurse or doctor next week though.

mine was 5.2 @5.30 this morning,
it moves between 4.1 and 5.4 i really dont know why?

Wouldn't worry in that range they are just about the same as a non diabetic and are ecellent. They move because of lots of things probably mostly related to what you ate the day before in my opinion. Also don't forget you meter isn't entirely accurate and can vary by up to + or - 0.5ish. Looks like you're doing great!

 Tomorrow will be the 5th Fasting BG I will have done, my highest reading just before a meal was 14.0.
I always wash my hands and rinse well.
Its always difficult getting blood out and thats on a high/depth lancet setting.
No sugar added but I do add white chocolate powder  but I do have the same drink every night.
I'll try the Cadbury's highlights
Thanks for your advice,
Linda
