Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

11.4 today so yet a bit lower than the day before :)

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

5.2 today. Which is ok considering that, for various reasons, I had only half my meds (one glic, two met) yesterday.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

4.7 this morning :)

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

5.4 :D :D :D probably down to the antibiotic I am taking!! It warns that it can cause hypo and to be very careful if diabetic and on Insulin especially, and oral meds as well. BUT I am very happy indeed with this result!!!!

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

5.2 again :D :D

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

7.2 this morning

I had a bag of cheese & onion crisps last night, would that have had an effect still? It was only 12 carbs, but i dont know if food with lots of flavourings in has a bigger effect? They were Walkers crisps.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

9.2 I'm sad to say :( :(

I have been on my insulin for 6days now, so I know it is still probably settling down, but it's looking more and more as if I may need some quick-acting insulin added to my regime, and possibly my dose of Humulin I increased. My later in the day results are all still in double figures. But I, along with my Consultant & diabetes nurse specialist, am confident that we will get this improved greatly.

I am also being much more restrained in my eating habits, something I have not always been very good with
Hopefully this will help too. Just wish someone could remove the CHOCOLATE LOVER GENE from my body!!!

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

Sending sympathy Dottybagpuss.

I think there are a number of us Chocolate loves out here. Nothing else seems to quite hit the spot, does it?

Maybe there is a support group somewhere :D

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

I seem to be stuck on 5.6. At least it isn't going up.

That 6.5 has to be a huge step forwards. With my BGs, they started going better in the day, the first thing in the morning one was the last to go lower. Maybe you are the same?

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

4.4 this morning :) will be seeing my endo tomorrow.

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn

All 7s this week, always is first thing, doesn't matter what I do nothing affects it. I eat very little till after lunchtime as I spike if I do although to be honest it goes up if I do nothing and eat nothing!!!. 7s before bed too. post 2 hour readings after meals sometimes higher than i would like but I only take one metformin SR at night with dinner. Maybe need one in the morning too.
