14.2 this morning - the steady downward trend is continuing, and starting to get to grips with LCHF diet.

I tried to resolve my BG a couple of years ago by diet alone, and the best I ever achieved was 13.8. I will be more than happy if I can get below that within a week of starting proper treatment. Fingers crossed for the next couple of days.

@Sable_Jan , no idea why its higher then normal but could be down to the accu chek meter that i,m using at the moment

5.9
Highest for a while but last night had wine and beer so I'm quite pleased with the numbers.

6.4 fasting
2hours later - Down to 5.5 after a lovely long walk.
Hope everyone who is feeling poorly can soon start to feel better.

Yes, you did say it seemed to be reading higher than your usual meter. Fingers crossed its nothing more than that. Lot of bugs about though so it could be you are fighting something too....

Are you taking an antihistamine to try to shift the blighters, Ethyl? I know it's completely different, but if I get prickly heat (in the high, high summer), 48 hours on an antihistamine knocks it on the head. It seems I just need to turn my body's response around and it looks after itself.

Got some and they are helping but not shifting it completely- some days better than others. My GP suggested I keep a note of what I've eaten or been in contact with in case something stood out but she did say it might just be one of those things you never find out why and that it can last months, which it did as a kid.

Friend of mine had to come off hers due to that. Can you take piriton to help with the itch

Got something like Piriton. I mentioned it to my male GP just after Xmas and he said oh bit of tingling is nowt to worry about even when I explained it was always 2hrs after my meds and felt like someone was giving me chinese burns on my limbs. I should have told him where to stick his bit of tingling- I do think there was an element of she's a fat type 2 so should just put up with it - our surgery is nearly all phone consultations now so he hasn't seen me since diagnosis now I'm over 5st thinner!
