I have the day off today - going to spend the day with my sister

5.6 this morning....:):):)

So think maybe my liver is allergic to work....now just need to win the lottery

6.0 this morning after another big protein-heavy pub dinner. Horrible weather, not getting any exercise at the moment.

5.6 .... had ice cream with chocolate sauce last night .....

Those figures look very good for both of you don't they? Is sub-4 for a non-diabetic a problem?
The 3.6 was for me not my wife, which is fine for me but may be a bit low for some. I am fine with my readings but my wife's are borderline to high I would say. I guess we both low carb usually, but a bit more so for me than for her. I average about 100g carbs per day at the moment.

Good morning all,

Haven't posted for a while but just wanted to share with you some good news. Firstly, for the past few weeks, I have not had a fasting reading above the 4's, varying from 4.2-4.9. Even my after meal readings have never been above 6.5. I am very pleased with this! Secondly, I went for my annual blood test this morning. Normally the nurse has trouble finding a vein and it is soooo painful, lots of bruising too. This time, in straight away and not painful at all! My tip-lots of water, keep warm and let your arm hang floppy by your side while waiting in reception, worked a treat. Thirdly and possibly the best bit, after fasting since 9pm last night and my trip to the doctors, I was 4.8 on my return!

I am normally quite well controlled but do struggle with morning readings, so this is a real triumph for me. The only thing I can put it down to is I have lost a few stubborn pounds that I had been trying to lose for ages, and I've been seeing a chiropractor. My diet is fairly light in the day (but includes good fats) and for tea I have a larger meal of meat or fish with loads of veg, followed by dark chocolate or full fat yoghurt before bed. I don't take any meds but have been taking a probiotic, 1000mg vitamin C and magnesium every day. I also started taking my antihistimine again a few days ago. I haven't been exercising massively due to pain issues but I do physio exercises and gentle walking every day. I have also been sleeping fairly well.

Sorry for long post but I just wanted to share my experience and hopefully help others who may be struggling.

I have high hopes for the results next week - last time my HBA1C was equiv to 5.5, I am massively hoping for a 4 something this time.

Tonight, my other half is taking me out for a long overdue date night, I think I might celebrate with a glass of wine! Well done me, am patting myself on the back as I type!:joyful:

Wishing you all good results too and most importantly a very happy weekend;)

**** fine result, here's hoping bloods come back as anticipated, whichever way it's goes keep up the good fight. Many many congratulations

Thank you both and good luck @vit90 on your mission too;)

Just looked at your results @vit90 , it looks like you're very nearly there - not far to go now. Your history is very similar to mine - I started out with hba1c at 9% and weighed 13 stone in 2011. Our other results look quite similar at first glance too. It's nice to feel as though we're not on this journey alone, isn't it?
