So this morn at 7am I was 14.4mmols, took 4units to correct. At 10am I was 8.4mmols, ate 2 boiled eggs (I assumed low to no carbs?) took 1unit to correct. Then just checked it 1 hour later at 11am before I headed on a walk and I'm 11mmols! I've had a fairly relaxed morning just pottering around the house. Should I have boloused more for the eggs?!

Don't just go off one mornings bg results, but for eggs (as in a low-carb meal) I need to bolus 1u for each egg, eggs with carbs I don't bolus for them.

I agree with Noblehead. I also wonder whether it could be the late food. If I delay eating in the morning, I seem to have to,fight a battle against going high.

I 'carb count' each egg, when eaten without carbs, as 6g carbohydrate per egg, and bolus accordingly. I eat around 4-6 eggs a day (two for breakfast, the rest as snacks or as ingredients in a meal).

Where do you get that info? The carbs and cals book says a boiled egg is 0g but if it's 6g per egg that would make sense in causing the rise for me..

This could actually be a cause. It's not usual for me to eat so late. Something for me to bear in mind. Thanks

That's the paradox, @samantha13 - eggs don't contain carbs, but in many of us they do raise blood glucose. Eggs raise my blood glucose, so I take insulin for them - after trial, error and of course a lot of testing while I worked it out!

I don't count them in this way if I'm having them with carbs, similar to what @noblehead has said above.

:)
