Good morning, all. I know that urination frequency is a sign of high blood sugar, but has anyone experienced this with LOW blood sugar? I am having issues with frequency and UTI has been ruled out. A1C was 6/6 on 10/25/21. Had been high prior to this and I am wondering if my body is trying to adjust, as I have been low for me (70's & 80's vs. 200) Has anyone experienced this?

Please let me know - thanks all.

It can be a sign of high anxiety?

I read that it can be, and i do have anxiety, but this came on like Gangbusters. I also see that it can be a side effect of glipizide. Going to talk to my doctor. So frequent that I was getting ready to go to a Urologist, so I hope I can figure this out. Thanks for the reply!

It could be due to an irritable bladder or ?menopause, and there are medications that can help either of these.

If you've recently started low carbing, you lose a lot of water-weight. (Carbs retain water. No carbs, it flows right out.) And that can mean having to urinate 5 times in a night, though it doesn't last for very long. Give it a week or two, if you haven't already.

Question: are you urinating a lot, or just little bits, often...?

With the diabetes forcing me to go to the toilet really, really often, my bladder got used to being emptied every 45 minutes to an hour. The first thing I looked for, anywhere, was a loo. With blood sugars in the normal range and my kidneys not frantically pushing out the sugar overload, I had to re-train my bladder not to give signals of needing to urinate hen I didn't have to. (And that required a specialised physical therapist for my pelvic floor). I still get bladder pain... Had a really bad day of it yesterday, actually. But I don't have to pee anywhere near as often. (Personal record of holding it: 5 hours!) And when I do, there's actually something more in there than half a teaspoon.

If you're still urinating a lot, rather than just often, just ignore me. But if the above sound familiar, maybe ask your GP for a referral to a specialised therapist. Otherwise, still get in touch and ask for a specialist, get your bladder and kidneys checked out. Better safe than sorry.

I sent you a private message, which I *think* you can reply to. Once upon a time I got rather inundated with messages and I had to switch them off. But I think if I initiate, others can respond. Might be wrong though.
