Hiya . I suffered pain for over a year in the lower pelvic area. Pain on lifting shopping bags, going for walks, even turning over in bed.
I made a decision to get the nurse to take out my coil thinking that could be the issue....it's not.
Doc sent me for a scan which was very thorough from the ovaries to my ribs.
Result was...we can't find anything.
But...you have a fatty liver!!!
I give up.
And the doc actually said " you have NAFLD ok" so I said what do I do bout that? " Lose weight" he said. That's all? Yes.
I use our rowing machine every second day, I also take Artichoke capsule from H& B.
Does anyone know what else I can do? I would be so grateful for any help.
God bless you all

Do not give up. I would suggest going low carb instead.

My NAFLD was so bad it was supposed to kill me years ago. Going low carb sorted that though, liver function returned to normal, as did blood sugars. https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html might help in that regard.

The pain you're experiencing sounds more like something like endometriosis or something. You shouldn't have to live with pain, and since it doesn't sound diabetes related (which NAFLD on the other hand, is), be a dog with a bone with this: do NOT let it go! Ask for a referral to a OBG/YN?

Good luck and feel better soon!

Hi @EnglandScotlandEngland , love the happy pic!

Tagging @JoKalsbeek for you, who got rid of her NAFLD (and her diabetes!) through low carb.

For you, if you want to try that route, you'll need to be very careful because you're on insulin. If you currently have a carb heavy diet your insulin doses will have to be adjusted to a new way of eating or you'll go low.

Good luck!

Thank you for your response I appreciate it.
When I said I give up I meant with the doc hehe
I don't eat much bread, chips, crisps, pasta or rice but I'm a chocolate biscuit lover with my cuppa tea which is 2-3 times a day.
I will check out the info and see what it's about.
God bless

Thank you for the reply it's appreciated.
Ah so me not eating chips or bread often is why I get hypos!
I get it now, I need to lower the insulin as well oops

What type of insulin(s) are you on?
And how often do you test your blood glucose?

You may benefit from a sensor to get a better feeling for your glucose patterns. Freestyle Libre gives out a 2 week free trial which works with a smartphone.

Going low carb fixed my NALFL too, as well as putting me into remission and, more recently, lowing my 'bad' cholesterol even more.
If you like baking then have a look at some of the keto sites, one of my treats is a square of low-carb cake at 3-5g a piece.

But yes, you may need to talk with your DN about the insulin doses if you cut carbs.

You may get something out of this Jason Fung video ( it's not too long or complicated). I get the impression that it's mainly the fructose that's the problem rather than the glucose so in your case the sugar in the biscuits rather the glucose that would come from the potatoes. You could try some intermittent fasting.
One of the viewer's comments under the video on Youtube says, "I just got diagnosed with this today after getting pain in the liver area for the past few months".

Am I wrong here?
I always thought that if you are taking insulin then it's not possible to lose weight?

It can make it more difficult as it is a fat storage hormone too and does hinder fat burning but not impossible if the right amount is used. Varies like everything with a number of things influencing it including if you are insulin resistant (like most type 2 using it) , and if you’re eating rubbish or nutritious foods alongside it.
