My husband is type 2 diabetic well controlled he is 85 been diabetic for 29 years and on one tablet Sitagliptin each day my concern is he doesn’t eat any fruit I wonder if a multi vitamin would help him does anyone diabetic take them
As mentioned, B12 would be one I'd certainly look into.
I have read that age can reduce it & Metformin can contribute.
I'd be in the group suggesting multi vitamins likely don't help much if anything is low.
I wonder if your posting because something has raised some concerns ?
Unsure if his meds would help or hinder, but I did find my B12 wasn't tested on mine before I began asking for it to be added.
No issues getting it done, & glad I did
In the bottom third of the 'Range'.
A regular sublingual tablet of b12 got me from low 200’s up to mid 300’s by next HBA1c blood test.
A wide range of 'symptoms' attributed to other illnesses when it can be b12 deficiencies that are causing them in some cases.
A quick Google would highlight some.
And some more info under my signature if interested.
The film (B movie) was particularly interesting.
