Same as you Ian. Trying to get into the 16st somethings.A good weight loss, considering those carbs!
That is a great result despite being ill and good luck with the 50K ride, keep us posted on your progress! This week I have managed to lose 2.9lbs despite feeling ill and not being able to go to the gym or get on my bike the past 2 days!
Hopefully now I am feeling a little better I can go to gym tonight to resume my training and also planning to do my first 50km ride since at least 2 years before COVID hit! Didn't realise it has been that long!
Well done all on the loss this week
It is such a struggle - well done for sticking with it, eventually you will get a breakthrough.Depressing put on again 215.9 1.8 maybe, getting confused trying to work it out.
Hi Jim, thank you. I am weighing everything religiously and keeping to 1400 calories and also keeping my carbs low, it is the first time in my life that I have eaten cheese, butter and cream and still lost weight! I am exercising (moderately, not intensively) for an hour 6 days out of 7 as well.Well done.
How r u losing?
Do you weigh your food and calculate your calories?
That is great progress, Jim, we are doing the same sort of thing and it is working well for both of us!Down 2 lbs this week. 17st 2.6lbs.
Counting Calories and eating between 50 - 70 grams of carbs, seems to work. But hard work at that!
Hi Jennifer, I am so glad you are here on this thread and - wow- you are so inspirational to us too! Your chart is very interesting to look at, with a couple of ups as well as downs, but with an overall downward trajectory which is very encouraging to see as a disappointing result on the scale can scupper even the most stalwart of people. Keep up the good work!Morning, hope you don't mind me joining in. Thank you for all the inspiration on this thread, you've probably don't realise how your 'losses' are such an inspiration!
I started my commitment of taking charge of my health just before 1st June '23 at 106kg which appears to be my 'setting point' having been here many times before. But this time it feels different, I'm getting lots of advice from this forum, sometimes information is a pointer for me to go searching.
Everything I eat and drink is logged. My weight is recorded every morning, and BG is monitored several times a day. I know it's a bit OTT, but for me this is a military operationand it doesn't matter how long it takes because I hope this WOE sticks.
Daily carbs are more or less between 15 and 20g, but never over 25g. This morning my weight is 92.65kg.
Good luck everyone, may your 'losses' be great (girth wise of course).

Those scotch eggs!! But still a pound is still a pound gone and you are very close to that milestone!Only shed a pound this week. I blame the scotch eggs!
Still, only a few pounds to go until I reach my third milestone of 17 stone.
Well done on the loss. I'm less than a week into my zillionth attempt. In 2 months I'll be 65. That means I've been overweight for 60 long years. I won't be holding my breath for success, but I keep on trying.Hi Everyone
I have started this thread to continue to measure my weight on a Friday. I do not belong to any weight loss support groups and feel there could be a lot Im missing out on from a support point of view. I measure my weight at the same time every Friday. You are welcome to join this thread with your own loss/challenge weeks.
10/3/16 - 3lb lost total lost to date - 17lbs
Me too, Jim - the 16st somethings are my goal too. And then a further few more stone off. Here for the long haul.Same as you Ian. Trying to get into the 16st somethings.
My 88 grams of carbs yesterday came from;
Almonds
pumpkin and sunflower seeds.
90% lindt dark chocolate.
mixed frozen berries
fage plain 5% yoghurt.
various above ground vegetables, including small portion of roast butternut squash.
1/2 small apple.
I know... they are my achilles heel. Those scotch eggs, but still a pound is still a pound gone and you are very close to that milestone!
Thank you @LeafyArts. During July I had weeks of hardly moving, the chart shows this clearly, so I had to go 'back to the drawing board'. I stopped all sweeteners. I had been using more and more of a squirt here and there of Keto Maple Syrup. I'm convinced this stopped me losing. The only sweetener I now use is in the slimline tonic that's added to my gin tipple once a day.Hi Jennifer, I am so glad you are here on this thread and - wow- you are so inspirational to us too! Keep on trying, I too have struggled with my weight all my life. Now that I have diabetes and have greatly reduced my carb intake, I am hopeful that this time, it will work.Well done on the loss. I'm less than a week into my zillionth attempt. In 2 months I'll be 65. That means I've been overweight for 60 long years. I won't be holding my breath for success, but I keep on trying.
Have you tried making Scotch eggs? They appear quite easy to do using an air-fryer. There're lots of recipes on youtube for keto scotch eggs that are around 1g to 1.5g of carbs each. You've got me going having just researched recipes, I'll need to make some today now using pork scratchings instead of breadcrumbsI know... they are my achilles heel.
I'm within touching distance of that milestone, so no scotch eggs for a while!
I see you've reached your big first goal - well done you.
I find this thread very useful, and encouraging. For me, and for others. So I hope it continues.
Free for me too. xThank you @LeafyArts. During July I had weeks of hardly moving, the chart shows this clearly, so I had to go 'back to the drawing board'. I stopped all sweeteners. Thank you @callyandy. I've tried many apps and Cronometer (the free version) suits me fine.
