weird smell

I know well what you mean by weird smell. It is not permanent, but comes literally by waves (from time to time) !

I think it could be the amount of insulin produced by your body when your blood sugar is 3.4 for example.

At times I have been thinking that something was rotten ! I guessed it came from the kidney. I found a way to cure it as follows :

3 teaspoonful of cocoa (I use Nestle) with 2 teaspoonful of sugar in a glass of very warm tea. I drank it twice or thrice daily. That weird smell disappeared after a few days.

I am not a Doctor. No Doctor has been able to tell me what was that weird smell as a residue from the urine. The light pain from my right kidney also disappeared.

I do not know the real source of that weird smell ! if you learn something, please keep us posted. Thanks.

I still drink my cocoa as mentioned above. Feeling also more energy instead of being weak and sleepy with low blood sugar !

I WISH TO ADD THE FOLLOWING, TOO : Now I noticed that the burning, tingling sensation in my feet at night disappeared. Skin peeling around the bottom edge of my feet stopped also. Can some Medical People check if the Cocoa Powder with some Sugar could help the low blood sugar with that weird smell, light kidney pain, tingling / burning sensation in the feet at night and skin peeling around the bottom of the feet. It is ok for me now and how it could help others.

So you add cocoa powder and sugar to a cup of warm tea? How did you come up with that concoction? Did you read about it, someone tell you about it or did you just come up with the idea yourself? I'm interested in what made you think of cocoa in the first place?

Re cocoa - have a read of the News item currently on the Home page.

re the smell - I sometimes get an acrid sort of smell coming off my skin. It seems only I can smell it. The only thing I can compare it to is the smell of new carpet. I've begun to think it may be something to do with Metformin - my surgery hand out different brands, depending on what's available from the supplier, and I seem to associate the smell with a change of brand.

My BGs are never very high, so it's not that. The only other thing that could be involved is red wine  .

Hi
I've had it since I started using Lantus...and running high....I think it is a chemical reaction to what ever is in the insulin. Have asked to be put onto different type.
