What are you doing now and humorous banter.

Hello Ian,how are your eyes now? i am going to Southend hospital for an examination re cataract op...on Monday, hoping to have left eye done first.have been very busy since Xmas, just finished a 7 day stint.
How was your Xmas?

Hello Clive

Christmas was quiet but nice
Our son is coming home in February for 3 weeks so we will have another Christmas dinner then

I’m pleased I had the cataract op initially I was worried but it was over in 15 minutes

The preparation took longer with 3 sets of eye drops to be administered

The result is amazing

I’m back on the waiting list to get my other eye done

Good luck with it Clive keep me posted as to how you get on

Regards to yourself and Mrs Molly

@wolfie11969 ...hope appointment goes well.....can sympathise with headache issue as had similar before Christmas and put it down to similar reason being of a similar age....was only mild headache but don’t usually suffer any so bad for me and irritating...decided to give up coffee for a while and seemed to clear it....

...not sure about anniversary gifts but will just mark occasion by spending day together and perhaps going out for lunch.....is also the third anniversary of when we first met on 18th January .....the day I sent that first private message which sparked it all off...:)..not sure if we should mark both but why not....

....hopefully others will be along to join in our chat....have missed hearing all the news ....

....guess the countdown is now on to your daughters wedding later in the year...do you have an outfit yet....

....off food shopping when Clive gets home from work in an hour or so....will catch up later :)

Appointment was fine, have to go back in 8 weeks.

And why not mark 18th Jan. The day I met my hubby - 13th December is also tinged by sadness as it was a few years after I met him I had to have my lovely dog euthanised due to his poor upbringing (from before I had him he was a stud dog at a puppy farm). We do laugh and joke about meeting - we were another Internet find - and how things quickly marched on. We got married in 2006 and joke we would be out of prison now if we had been found guilty. I think all anniversaries should be marked.

And yes countdown is on. I still have no idea of what to wear as I dont really look right in ladies clothes (and before all you men jump in and say 'neither do we' it's because I've always dressed in trousers/jeans so ladies clothes are a mystery to me. Might pay someone to make me a trouser suit and buy some boots. Not sure if that is acceptable for mother of the bride though

15 minutes not bad. Hubby has a 'hole' in his eye. Something called macular something or other which could be linked to the stroke he had 9 years ago. They are talking of operating but hubby reluctant as he thinks he will have to be conscious. He wants to be knocked out as he is mighty squeamish.

Any words of wisdom for him @Cumberland

So morning people

It's murky and grey here. Hubby in bed as dog been a bit naughty again.

Well it's Thursday and that means visitors. Old friends of the family this morning, daughter and granddaughters after school. Granddaughter number 1 is stopping overnight so school run tomorrow.

Tomorrow I'm meeting with a personal trainer to see if he can help me lose some of this weight. (put a stone on between late October and New Year :bigtears:). All I can say is this personal trainer is either going to make or break me.

Enjoy your day, what are you all up to today?

Good luck with your appointment

Thanks wolfie11969,it’s an early stage cataract but because of my coaching for a living was advised to get it done early....so I am
Molly56,always wears jeans etc,but she looked gorgeous on our wedding day, sure you’d be cool in whatever you decide to wear

Yes your Mrs looked lovely. If I have to look like a lady I'll be taking ideas from Molly to show me where to go.

However I've just found a nice, matronly, navy blue jumpsuit. Might wear that hee hee

If they’re recommending an operation then at that stage make it clear that he’s anxious and requests the op to be done and that he is ‘knocked out’ as you put it.

They cannot refuse

Thankyou Cumberland, I will pass on your thoughts and perhaps go with him the next appointment, if I can get a dog sitter

Morning friends

How we doing today? Its a bit warmer today with a little more light coming through the grey clouds.

Today I have plans to take the dog for a long walk in preparation for a greyhound meet and greet in our area on Sunday. It's the first major one he will have been to so just hoping the socialisation skills we are building on will work when presented by a few greyhounds.

Hubby out tonight in Coventry at a gig - some Alice Copper tribute so I'm home alone with a dog and some wine and some treats. Might be back later to drive you all mad in a drunken state

Have a good day

Good afternoon @wolfie11969 .....just a quiet day here today....trip to garden centre this morning to get bag of cat litter and hairdressers this afternoon for a quick trim (realised it was four months since last haircut) .....now for relaxing afternoon and evening with cauliflower cheese and sausages for dinner....
....hope you enjoy your ‘home alone’ evening.....feet up and relax.....:)

....hope weather is kind for your meet and greet greyhound outing on Sunday....wrap up warm.....does dog have a snazzy jacket to wear for his debut meeting....:)
