What blood sugar levels?

Ken
my last word on the subject:
When I was a teacher one of the things I hated and found most difficult was teaching kids that the over simplified explanation they'd learned for something last year, needed to be refined.Eg. Electrons DO not orbit the nucleus of an atom like planets in the solar system. ( The Bohr model) I taught electron clouds from the beginning. So Nothing to unlearn.

I don't get these numbers at all.

I have been told to try and stay under 100 and anything over 140 I should inject.

What are all these X.X figures?

Edited by cugila:
100 mg/dl = 5.5 mmol/l.
140 mg/dl = 7.7 mmol/l.

The Bg numbers that we use on this site are in mmol/l. This is a UK based site. We do not use mg/dl and anybody who does so should convert them before posting to UK numbers for the benefit of all members and a better response. The other numbers can be posted in brackets if needs be.

All you have to do is to divide mg/dl by 18 to get mmol/l and multiply by 18 when converting the other way around. This then saves us having to convert the numbers in peoples posts.

There is a lot of variations among diabetics and the same is true for nondiabetics. They vary at lot as well. Even nondiabetics can go as high as 10 for their Thanksgiving Dinner.
