I like to have a big breakfast as I am a chef and it might be 8 hours before I eat again, one of the hazards of the job which probably contributed to my getting diabetes in the first place. I've always loved oats for my breakfast as I'm a firm believer in its ability in keeping cholesterol low. However I always used to have it with liberal helpings of brown sugar, yum!! So now I've cut down on the amount I have, 20g but obviously some of that is insoluable fibre, I add extra oat bran for fibre, some sliced almonds, tsp of Truvia, some blackberries from the freezer and several good dollops of full fat Greek yogurt. Give it a stir and I'm good to go!! Seems to work for me, the rest of the day I'm only eating green veg and protein, so very low carb for the rest of the day. I can't garuantee that I'm totally ketogenic but I'm certain I'm quite close. I'm losing 2lb a week and my bloods are back to normal, so I'm happy! I will have a change on the weekend and have bacon, eggs, mushrooms and plum toms.
